So as per title I am curious about which fragrances people rate 9 or higher. To give that context, I love French lover but I appreciate that's my affection for it. I could never claim it's a 10 outta 10. It's longevity is not perfect the sillage is less than optimal. Regardless of it being my favourite it's imperfect. 

Same could be said for every storm a serenade, amouage honor and most everything in my collection. 

 terre d'hermes vetiver is for me a 9. It lasts a solid 8 hours before becoming a skin scent. The sillage is perfect for its formal or office setting. 
Smell is so subjective but the reason it's not a ten is that it is super linear. 

Roja Elysium EDT. Sure it's an EDT but it still lasts 6-8 hours. It's super mass appealing, infact it's so good everyone seems to like it. Sillage is an amazing trail. 

I could go on about other fragrances or their subtleties but you get the idea. Despite smell being subjective what do you rate a 9 or 10?

Since my whole wardrobe is basically all black, all of my fragrances fit into this category 😂 On a serious note, Kilian Black Phantom is the darkest, heaviest fragrance I own and it definitely fits your description

You woke up, and opened your wardrobe to see what you’d be wearing for today. Blue? Red? Neutrals? 

Nothing seemed to fit. It was all too bright, too plain, not enough personality, but also too much at the same time.

Finally, you find the perfect combination of black. Black shirt, blazer, pants, dress, skirt, coat, socks, boots, shoes, whatever your combination is that day. Your hair is sleek, you might also have black sunglasses, and you look like an off-duty cinematic Russian spy.

I go for sweeter/gourmand perfumes so my favorites are Kilian Princess (marshmallow/green tea), Kilian Angel's Share (spiced apple pie), Kilian Black Phantom (boozy chocolate), Xerjoff Lira (lemon pound cake), and Xerjoff Italica (almond cookies). Kilian Paris's Black Phantom, Xerxoff (entire lineup), Kemi, Roja Haute Luxe and Stephane Humbert Lucas Mortal Skin are the most enticing for me.

Yunno, sometimes the bottles sell me, i’ll admit it. I’m just superficial that way. But dang it my 70 dollar smelly juice better be in a pretty bottle!
