  9) Kitchen Aid recommends using just slightly finer than medium grind for your beans. If you want a really good cup of coffee, you should be grinding your beans right before you brew. Pre-ground coffee goes stale quickly. I set my old Kitchenaid coffee grinder to #5

 You tell this one about the type of coffee you are going to use, and you tell it how many cups you are going to brew, before you turn it on. It asks whether the coffee you are using is light, medium, or dark roast? Once you set the type of roast, the coffee maker automatically controls the temperature of the water that is best suited for it. This is precise coffee making.  The specialty Coffee Association of America considers the best coffee is made with the pour over method using unbleached paper filters

 16 month review has caused the loss of a star.  Kitchen Aid has made an electric coffee maker to just make excellent coffee. This device is not really about convenience, or speed, or value. It’s all about a good cup of coffee

It’s All About the Coffee...but some problems.

You today! I'll be taking a look at Kitchen Aides new SCA A Certified Home Coffee maker. This is the pour over coffee brewer. Can't remember the exact model number, but if you search for it online, this is what would come up. So again, it's the newest of DSC a certified coffee makers at the time of this recording and I'm just going to do a quick unboxing and show you what's inside and then all test out the brews

 For the Sca standards, you're going to pay a little bit more, but if you're into better coffee, totally worth it. So thanks for watching this review and please subscribe, comment, share. Like the whole.

 So this has a middle ground because you can select the temperature via medium roast or dark roast. so it's got two temperature settings whereas the Brazen Plus has a whole lot of them. BT 1900 doesn't have any temperature settings, so that's what I mean by middle ground. it's got some customizability and it's also still simple, so it's kind of like the perfect middle ground between those two coffee makers

 in terms of price. Same things true actually. I think this is around last I checked Very comp or bold with the price of the bone of UWT 1900. It does, however, only come in two size, so you might only need to make five cups of coffee at most and that would be a situation where you'd probably want to go with the beefy or the Bonavita I think it's called 1,500 TD for the 5 cup version which is also SCA certified

Inconsistent and not well thought out.

  Overall, this is one of the best coffee makers on the market. Update to come in the following months regarding the machine's reliability.  ---- Update #1 (3 weeks in) I had to knock the machine down a star due to decline in flavor of the brewed coffee recently. I'm not sure what is going on, but coffee from this Kitchenaid is tasting more bland and watered down now

 Lastly, the price is little too high for the build quality. Kitchenaid is clearly marking up these machines because of the SCAA certification, but the actual build quality is on-par with Kitchenaid's lower end machines. The value just isn't quite there. The price point should be around $130-150

I'm not sure what is going on, but coffee from this Kitchenaid is tasting more bland and watered down now.  By my measurement the temperature of the coffee as it entered the carafe was only about 160 degrees. Certainly it was hotter before it hit the coffee grinds but IMO if I had indeed dripped at the advertised 195-205 degrees then it would be hotter as it entered the carafe..

We returned ours. The coffee simply did not come into the carafe as hot as we expected. By my measurement the temperature of the coffee as it entered the carafe was only about 160 degrees.
