Great but beware exhaust melting!

For long trips I wanted something sturdier than the cheap hitch mount hanger style rack I’ve been using, plus one that would keep my carbon bike more stable in road wind. 

Expensive and heavy but essentially perfect

  The added benefit of having a repair station (which we didn't think we would use) comes in very handy for routine maintenance, then stores completely away.  Our only complaint is that it is a bit heavy (read VERY sturdy) for one senior, but certainly manageable for two of us and the price of the Kuat is at the upper end.

  Installing this rack honestly couldn't be simpler, it's incredibly easy to install and has all the features you really could need. Per the instructions, a wheel base of 24" or less requires the use of a separate attachment that goes on the securing latch arm thingy. Our ebikes had 4" fat tires with a 24" wheel base so I thought I needed those attachments, I reached out to Kuat about this because we had a trip coming up the next week. Expecting to have to pay for 2 of them, Kuat sent them to me at no charge and even provided all the tracking info, we excitedly received them before our trip just to find out we didn't actually need them, because the fat tires are still tall enough for the arms to latch down on them and still have plenty of latch room

 But I want to make sure Kuat gets recognition for the outstanding service that backs the product you're potentially buying. You don't see very great customer service these days, and it often goes underappreciated.  Installing this rack honestly couldn't be simpler, it's incredibly easy to install and has all the features you really could need. Per the instructions, a wheel base of 24" or less requires the use of a separate attachment that goes on the securing latch arm thingy

 That rack also had a bed design for tightening it such that it scraped skin off my knuckles every time I tried to tighten it down. 

Smart design that is first functional and second, attractive. All my issues with the other hitch rack are addressed with this design. I completely trust my bikes to this rack.
