I bought these true to size (8 ladies) and they are too small for hiking and mountaineering.  I ended up with the Nepal Cubes in 9-1/2 ladies due to toe box fit. Not sure if the Trangos would have been the right boot for mountaineering, but are likely a good option for expert (non-technical) hiking/climbing in Washington state.

I messed up

 So if you have a good, strong, stiff boot here, you're not going to be utilizing your calf muscle as much as you're going to be using your quads and hamstrings, which makes a huge difference. Kind of in your in your personal endurance level and longevity. On the trail - and this boot will actually, I think, increase your time and your ability to stay out hiking, because it's using larger muscle group a lot of people, don't really talk about that. I'Ve got a kinesiology degree

 I'Ve got about six hundred miles on them now, which is phenomenal as generally four or five hundred miles. I'M tossing the boots are selling them on ebay and buying another pair super super rigid. You know super-tough booth when i talked about their incorporating an ultra-light soul in midsole. Seamless, waterproof construction integrated tongue made a very, very soft stretchy fabric, which is really nice because they don't find their kind of you know they don't get that quick to you get you generally get, because it can't even really feel that the tongue is in these La Sportiva says that these are good for and a technical technical mix of climbing and ice climbing I've worn this in just about every possible scenario in situation that you can think of, and I said 600 miles on them

I spoke iwth several retailers and they appear to "know" of this problem and said sportiva screwed up with the sizing for these boots.

 Feet swelling at altitude this boot is unwearable, I'm not sure I could even hike in these. 42 is the largest size so I am forced into the men's and now the footbed is too big. I could wear them hiking but with the looser ankle fit I am afraid to climb in these, I loved the former fit, hugged my ankle securely during climbs. 

..my husband noted some serious sizing problems himself, but lucky for him they have a lot more sized for men so he was able to get a fit.

I would be thrilled if La Sportiva made women's boots in larger sizes since the shape of the men's version does not fit as well.

  This means the ones that work for motnain  climbing from La sportiva are a full size and a half larger than my usual street shoes. 

The shape of these boots fit well, but the other reviews are right: they run small.  I returned them and ended up with the men's version of the same boots in a size 43.  My street shoe size in women's is a 9.5, and I usually buy my trail running shoes/hiking boots in a women's size 10 (eu 42)

 The fit is narrow. It is suited well for 3-season activities as it is not a warm boot.

Unconfortable boots: I miss my Trango S EVO GTX

I went a half size up from my street shoes size and they fit perfectly with a thicker sock. Through the wet snow on the descent they kept my feet warm, dry, and comfortable. I hope to summit Rainier in these next summer and know they will not disappoint!
