 So poor song choice for that commercial. And you know, I'm not saying it's a bad fragrance by any means, it's not a bad fragrance, it's a pleasant scent. Like if I smelled it on somebody, I would think they smell nice, they smell very fresh, floral. I don't know if they'd really stand out to me, but they would smell nice, just nice, you know? Not, wow, what are you wearing, oh my god, you smell amazing

 If you like a clean rose, you don't mind spending whatever the full price is right now, you just like a nice clean rose with a little bit of pear, a little bit of musk, but kind of something safe, it is very safe, it is very office friendly. I'll say, it's very inoffensive, I don't think anybody would dislike it, it's not one that I'm like, ugh, ew, this is gross, I don't like it, you know, I'm just criticizing it because it didn't live up to the expectations that the commercial set, I also think it's like a massive marketing ploy with Lancome and just the way that they advertise their fragrances and they just wanna, you know, just be on top of the game, it's just one of those gimmicky, let's make a quick buck and then everybody's gonna forget about it, my prediction is in three years you're gonna find this fragrance for 30 or 40 dollars online everywhere, so yeah, that's my take on it, let me know what you guys think, let me know if you agree or disagree, if you love it, if you hate it, if you guys enjoyed this video, give it a thumbs up, please subscribe if you haven't already and I'll see you guys in the next video. I have to do a quick follow up because after I criticized Idul, I played with it a little bit and I layered it and I layered it with Diane by Diane von Furstenberg and it was just random, this is a patchouli based fragrance, it's patchouli, musk and myrrh and it has some like florals in there, it's like a little bit of like violet and frangipani but honestly if I hadn't looked at the notes I wouldn't be able to tell, it just smells mostly like patchouli and musk and when I layered it, magical things happened, there became depth, there became opulence, it was like, it honestly reminded me a little bit of midnight poison which I recently got to try a little decant of it and the way that these two combined, the rose in here that seemed like a basic musky rose that I criticized, when it combines with a patchouli, with like a musky patchouli and I'm sure you guys can layer it with a different patchouli and play with it but honestly, now I feel like it might be worth it just for layering purposes, like combining this type of rose with a patchouli like in here, like it's not sweet, it's like a fairly dry musky patchouli, it's pretty, it's very feminine, it's not heavy, it worked out really well layering these two.  No. Eh, I probably wouldn't even give them a compliment, honestly. I would just think that person is clean. It's very lackluster, very whatever, you know? When it's on sale, like I wouldn't go and buy this full pop right now, but when it's on sale, if it goes down to $30 or $40, I might buy it, it's one of the, I wanna say, it's not one of the worst rose releases of the last year or so, there's been worse, there's been worse releases in general, so I'm not gonna say, oh, it's the worst release ever, I'm just saying that the fragrance and the commercial don't match, you know? Lancome Idole - Smells like any other generic floral fragrance. Did not detect anything that stands out for me.

I frequently buy samples of perfumes from other places. I have never received a sample bottle that is not completely filled until now. Both samples were filled only halfway.

 I'm not really smelling the vanilla, but I know that that will help it last throughout the day. I received this yesterday and I wore it yesterday. So in terms of lasting, I could definitely still smell it like four or five hours later. After that you had to get like quite close up to the skin

 And I believe that main rose petal note, Esparta rose petal sustainably sourced from Turkey exclusively for Lancome. So no other brand has that exact perfume note from that exact rose petal. There's a fair amount of musk in here, which I really like when it's mixed in with things like rose, because it really helps it last. It makes it feel feminine and empowering without being strong or overwhelming

This perfume doesn't last like the bottle I had bought from Macy's. I'm wondering if it's a knockoff???

What fragrance did you have high hopes for but turned out to be a bummer? I think mine is the Maison Margiela line in general. They are nice and subtle but I didn’t find any of them TOO inspiring for the price

What was your most disappointing fragrance?

I did get a YSL l’homme eau de parfum sample which was about half full which smells amazing.

Not enough product but great experience

Lancome idole: I wasn't interested at all in that perfume but received a sample of it. I was surprised how much I liked that one (I usually would go for sweet and fruity perfumes). Didn't think I would like that powdery floral smell :)

I've been testing quite a few samples lately. 

Many of the scents I tried more or less matched my expectations. But some were either much better or worse than expected. Two recent examples:

**Parfums de Marly Layton** - I already own Pegasus, and assumed this would be a no-brainer from the way it's described. On testing, I found it to be a pleasant, harmless scent. Fruit accord with lavender, followed by typical vanilla/sandalwood that you've smelled a million times. 6/10, but not FB worthy.

**Xerjoff Erba Pura** The citrus quickly fades to this absolutely yummy musky and stewed-dried-fruit mix. Much, more greater than the sum of its parts. 8/10 (but not going to purchase yet).
