  TL,DR: Not stainless, rust forms on even unused tools if even slightly wet, entire assembly is magnetic.

 Surely the materials of the tools are made of some high-grade steel and have a lower degree of oxidation resistance, right? Whatever, nothing is perfect. It's probably a marketing ploy where just the case is stainless so they can claim so in the title.  Except were far from perfect here. Looking for more rust, I spot it on the frame as well

I recently visited my sister and was going to quickly fix something that was unscrewed, only to find that she did not have a screwdriver or any other tool for that matter. She's new to being on her own and not particularly handy, so I can kind of see why this happened, but I can't keep letting her exist this way. lol

I was thinking about getting her a small toolbox/kit, but to be perfectly honest she is the kind of person that would lose everything quickly. So I think a solid multitool would be the perfect option to take care of random around-the-apartment needs. I started researching, but there are just so many options out there! I would really appreciate some recommendations!


A few requirements/preferences:

-A multitool based around a set of needle-nose pliers would be preferred. Personally, I find that a good set of versatile pliers is a staple.
-Size/weight is not an issue. This item will probably be kept in a drawer, not carried around. In fact, since this will literally be the only tool she has, something more heavy-duty is probably preferred.
-NO REMOVABLE BITS. I cannot stress enough how easily she loses things. Those bits will disappear. I would rather the tool have a small selection of different drivers than have every bit type covered.
-A knife is not necessary. The tool will be kept in an apartment, so there will be other knives around. Not that having a knife wouldn't probably be nice, it's just not a dealbreaker.
-Similarly, scissors, bottle opener, can opener, corkscrew, and nail file, are all fine to have on the tool, but not NECESSARY. She does have these items in her home. What I'm looking for are more "handyman" type tools, not literally anything someone might need if they were stranded.

Example: I personally don’t see the appeal of paracord wrap handles, especially on expensive fixed blades. 

What knife feature bothers you , that other people seem to love. 
Blade shapes, opening mechanisms/types, scale material, lock mechanism,pocket clip types or anything of that nature. 
Also what knife companies just don’t do it for you? Wether it be designs or overpriced or anything. Even if the company has a big following or fan base

These are just my opinions. This thread is out of curiosity, not for arguing. I’m not knocking any bodies style. I’m just looking to hear what people have to say. Not to badger them for sharing their opinion. 

My list: 
First,paracord wrapped fixed blade,  I just can’t 
Demko, super popular and have dedicated fans. I have owned n used them, I just don’t get the hype.
Emerson, I think they are crazy expensive for what they seem to be, but I could be wrong about this one.
And lastly wire clips. I don’t see the appeal of the paper clip look.

does anybody know how much this would sell for/ how much it’s worth, it’s my dads he carried it with him when he was on multiple tours, he gave it to me when i was about 10 after he left the army although i don’t speak to him anymore

 Maybe just a bad blade but was disappointed when my older super took broke the screw loose and no damage to the blade. Same model used to get the job done.
