Ledger Nano X

Let me start by saying I was really worried about having the battery issues that so many of these Ledger Nano X's seem to have had over the past several months going by online posts and reviews here and other places... Upon receiving this one I immediately connected it to a standalone charger to see how it would respond and to make sure it would fully charge before connecting it to a computer to actually begin using

 The 4 star review comes from me comparing this device to the Trezor Model T which I also have and bought before this device. Having the top spec offerings from both companies, I can say that I like the full color touch screen of the Trezor Model T much more. The physical interface and screen of the Ledger is not nearly as easy to use.  Be aware that you'll have to do a LOT of clicking with the two buttons the Ledger has to get anything done as far as navigating the menus on the tiny monochrome screen and approving various prompts, etc

No battery issues, so far! - 11/26/2021

  The problem is the integration between the Ledger hardware device, my OS/browser combination, and Yoroi. It took me HOURS just to get the damn thing to connect initially. And I've worked in the high-tech industry for 30 years. After banging my head against the desk with innumerable errors (

 I gave Ledger 2 stars because if you're only working with native-supported coin, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, you might not ever have any issue. But heaven help you if you venture to other coins that require a third-party wallet. It's just too much frustration to bear.

Great Idea, Horrible Integration

Pretty Happy with it

The Ledger Wallet met and exceeded my expectations. From it's sleek design, to it's fort knox level security. It's given me peace of mind knowing my crypto assets are safe and secure, right inside my pocket. The only thing I could ask to be improved upon is the battery life! Leaving bluetooth turned on definitely drains the battery very quickly, but arguably is a good incentive to only use wired communications, for sake of battery life and security!

  The other thing I noticed is the batter drains REALLY fast while working with it. I'd guess maybe an hour before dead from a full charge - while on and being used. That is a guess - but I had it at 57% charge and while trying to connect it to my smartphone over Bluetooth - maybe 20 minutes worth, it was at 25% when I gave up.  That leads to the primary issue

 So, I tried pairing the Nano X with my PC that has Bluetooth. My PC does see the Nano X - but a new discovery - the Nano X does not support connecting to a PC via Bluetooth. How ridiculous! I have found where others have ran a virtual machine on their PC running an Android x86 emulator and can connect the Nano X to that and then use the Ledger Live App that way - but what a kludge of a workaround! This, along with the poor support, has given me reason to adjust my review to 1 star verses 2.  Anyway, apparently the Nano X is working to some extent with Bluetooth as the PC sees it

 I got this primarily to be able to use it with Ledger Live App on my phone via Bluetooth. However, my phone as of yet, has not been able to 'see' the Nano X as an available Bluetooth device to pair it. I found an article on Ledger's support site that said to reset Bluetooth pairings on the Nano X and to restart it - but that made no difference. I tried varies combinations of turning on/off Bluetooth on the Nano X while turning on/off Bluetooth on my phone, restarting my phone and doing all the same again

Not working properly and lackluster support...

 One key differentiator is which crypto can be stored on each wallet. They dont all match. If you want to put anything unusual into cold storage, you need to make sure your wallet supports it. This wallet supports way more types of coins than my exchange offers in the US and in my state
