The front of the LG G7 is dominated by the flat 6.1 inch display. It is a LCD display, which personally doesn't bother me as it still looks fantastic and works for me in the environments where I travel. OLED has become the standard for most Android phones and the iPhone X, but all previous Apple iPhone models used LCD without people whining about the display technology. OLED screens have blacks that are darker than seen on LCD screens, but the concern I've read online is in regards to visibility in direct sunlight. It was a rare sunny day yesterday in Washington State and when I held the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, it has the best OLED display on any phone right now, at full brightness next to the LG G7 with the Super Bright toggle on then it was clear to me the LG G7 looked better in this condition. To be honest, the LG G7 looked to be the same as the S9 Plus without the Super Bright toggle enabled. This Super Bright toggle bumps the LG G7 up to 1000 nits. I'm not concerned at all about the G7 display being LCD instead of OLED. The LCD display has performed well over the past month and the only issue I have is one that I have had with LG's displays for years. LG's auto-brightness never works well for my preferences as it always provides a dimmer display than the conditions warrant. I simply turn it off and stick with brightness at 50 percent for most indoor conditions. Oddly though, LG calls its notch New Second Screen. In the past LG launched devices with an actual second screen that could contain shortcuts, call notifications and actions, speed dial options, and more. These functions have now moved to the floating bar on the G7. The New Second Screen is actually just the two small areas around the front notch where status information resides. You can customize the look of this area and the curvature below it, but it is not really a second screen even if that is what it is called.  This phone originally came out in 2018, this was around the same year we got the Samsung Galaxy S9, we also got the iPhone XS and XR and XS Max a little bit later in this year, but the iPhone X was still around at this time as well, so this was not a super outdated looking phone, this thing looks pretty modern to that day and age. We had a 6.1 inch IPS panel on the front, a 1440p display as well, now I would kind of err on the side of this phone, I wish it had an OLED display, the G8 ended up having one, but it's a very weird LG, they make really good IPS panels, but they never really switched over to OLED, and that could be another reason why their demise was what it was, was because they were just kind of slow to adapt, they were really quick to add other things to their phones, you know like a lack of home button and gesture based design and the double tap to wake up, those things were really cool, but they were really kind of slow to bring an OLED panel, they had it on other phones too before this one. But regardless the display itself was nice, we had a notch up top which was really cool, a little bit of a bezel at the bottom, but it didn't look that bad and the Google Pixel 3 XL came out this year too, and that phone looked way uglier than this thing, so I think this thing looked good, definitely not an ugly looking phone by any means, we had a headphone jack on this thing, a USB type C port and a micro SD card slot, which is actually really cool, having the ability to have that I

 The UI though, and this is where things are a little iffy, the UI was still really not that crazy, you know, amazing, I mean it was still kind of clunky here and there, although it was better than before, I really wasn't that big of a, you know, I wasn't really like that great of like a, oh this is like the best performing phone of this time, even with the iPhone X, I still kind of felt like that device was, you know, a better performing phone. I think the iPhone X was probably the best performing phone at this moment, even better than the Galaxy S9 at that time, but still you have to give a lot of respect for LG for making a phone like this and they didn't give it like no features at all, you know, it still had a pretty decent amount of performance and it still was a pretty good performing phone when it came down to it. So in terms of performance, that kind of covers it up there. Now ending it off with the battery life, this device internally had a 3000 mAh battery inside of it, which was pretty common at that day and age, I mean you had the Galaxy S9 pretty much the same thing, you had the iPhone X a little bit smaller than that, but it was kind of pretty much the same exact performance when it came down to it

Some I saw there went for $360+.

If you need a new phone, the Moto G Power is another option. Usually on sale around $200 or less, same 5000 mAh battery as the V60 but will last longer, (Uses the snapdragon 665, slightly better at power management), has 64 gb of storage with an SD card slot, and the cameras are okay. It's midrange and does its job well.

Some phones that I could recommend are the s10 lineup (s10e, s10, s10+) since they're still very great phones that are getting one UI 3.0. they all have decent sized batteries, good cameras, and everything else that you have mentioned. 

Pixel phones have amoled such as the 4a/4a5g everything else is flawless about them, but no sd card. The Moto G Power has a massive battery, big screen, decent cameras, and an LCD screen to save battery. It's a very good deal for a phone like this and it'll save you some more money to get a new game, a pair of headphones or something.

Looking for phone around $500 (Battery, Camera, Jack)

This is an ok phone, but the battery is no good. It charges really fast; but if you make a few calls, check your social media page, OR play one good game, then the phone is giving you that "down to 15%" message for you to charge your phone. If the battery lasted longer, I would actually give it five stars. The face and voice recognition work 90 % of the time

Battery needs work

 Even the most demanding Pixel peepers can't complain. Thanks to the notch, the phone sports a 19.5x9 aspect ratio, which means it's a bit longer than most phones. The notch doesn't cut into content when you're watching videos or playing games, but due to how these LCDs show black, it never completely disappears

 The battery is big, but the battery life isn't really that impressive. The speaker is super loud, but the sound quality isn't that amazing. Despite this, it has a good price and is one of the few flagships to include a headphone jack, an FM radio, and expandable storage. Ultimately, it's a nice phone and it deserves a recommendation, but before you buy it, you should be aware not only of its strengths, but also its weaknesses

 However, 4K only has OIS, and some electronic stabilization would be a welcome addition. 1080p videos are also really great, and they have the added benefit of EIS for less camera shake. Thanks to the 8MP camera, selfies are way better than on the V30 and the G6, but considering their quality, that's not much of a compliment. Still, there's now plenty of detail and good colors and contrast

 Despite no telephoto camera, portrait mode is surprisingly good, and subject separation works quite well. The phone also features a Google Lens shortcut directly in the camera app. It's useful for copying text like phone numbers or looking at book details by their covers. But as far as items go, well, it can tell that these are headphones, but it can't even tell you what company they're from, so that functionality is pretty limited for the time being

Forget about Using Verizon Visual Voicemail with This Phone

 It's not like it's God awful, it's totally fine. It's just not that pixel or even Samsung experience out of the box that I know a lot of people prefer. Another feature unique to the G7 is that wide angle camera. Sure, the rear camera as a whole isn't necessarily a top five shooter and the front camera probably isn't even on a top 10 list, but you have no idea how unbelievably useful a wide angle lens is until you start using it

 They launch phones in between other flagship devices like the iPhone and S9. So everybody already has the next new phone by the time these come out. LG also prices their devices a little too high and the company makes up for that by offering a ton of buy one, get one free offers. But that ultimately ends up just killing the value of the phone since people just resell the extra ones

 Another feature unique to the G7 is that wide angle camera. Sure, the rear camera as a whole isn't necessarily a top five shooter and the front camera probably isn't even on a top 10 list, but you have no idea how unbelievably useful a wide angle lens is until you start using it. LG G7 ThinQ Review 45 Days Later: The Best Phone No One Will Buy

I love my LG G7 ThinQ, it performs well and was exactly what I wanted when I bought it. I now need to replace it, and I need some help. I really like its great display quality and fast (to me) performance and don't really want to downgrade in either category. The tap to wake up screen and the notification LED are huge pluses to me, I almost never see those anymore

Battery life

It's a shame because I actually love this phone, the android one setup was really nice, felt clean and fluff free. The main issue is battery is really dying, and I'm constantly out of space, even with regularly cleaning stuff, the internal storage just doesn't have enough. I have a 120gb sdcard in it but I can't seem to make it use that for the majority of app storage so it's just useless.
