LG SL9Y Soundbar REVIEW: I test DOLBY ATMOS - Listen here!

 I think the sound on them is great but I’m having awful issues with getting the sound to work correctly. I have everything using eARC but if I switch the mode to Bluetooth to play music from my phone and then back to HDMI for my PS5 for example the PS5 sound won’t work at all. It will act like it’s connected and even switch the on screen volume indicator but no sound will come out until I either reset the TV, the sound bar or sometimes it needs both.

Similarly I went from native YouTube to PS5 which doesn’t even require switching soundbar inputs and the sound stopped working until I reset. Can someone please help? I love the sound but I can’t have to reset it any time I want to do anything.

Features are good, but soundbar freezes up every few weeks requiring a reboot and the sub failed and was repaired under warranty

Good features but quality concerns

 It'S very odd you're, not gon na see that with many bars and there's also no old rear surrounds so we'll get to the center channel a second. But as far as the rear surrounds, this is sort of designed to immerse you in audio without having to put some back channel speakers. Maybe you don't want to mount them, maybe you think they are going to mess up your room and not look very good. So this is supposed to offer you a lot of immersion without having to do that and because it needs to get that rear, surround action

 You can also connect a USB Drive for high resolution, audio files at 24-bit 96k Hertz, a nice inclusion there, especially if you have a nice collection of high resolution files, you can actually control the folders right from your remote. Although you know you have to check certain drives, won't be compatible, but you can definitely use a USB flash drive. One thing you won't get, though, is an analog input. There'S just no analog input on this, we're starting to see that more and more so we like the USB, but it would be nice to have an analogue input for your legacy audio devices like a vinyl player

LG SL9YG Dolby Atmos Sound Bar - Hands-On Review

On Rtings, one of the best review platform, they have in depth reviews of the [SP9YA]([URL REMOVED] and the [Beam 2]([URL REMOVED] giving the LG a better score. In my experience with previous models, Sonos sounds a bit better out of the box, while the LG needs some tinkering in the menus, but once done it works wonders. There are some extra options for when it is plugged into a LG TV, which may interest you since you plan on buying one. I haven't tested that on my side since my TV is a Panasonic

I have not tried the gen.2 Beam, nor the LG SP9YA, however I have used both previous models, the first gen Beam, and currently own an LG SN9YG. To me the LG sounds better.

On paper the LG is better, with real up-firing speakers (the Sonos only emulates vertical surround), has a subwoofer and is even upgradable with optional rear speakers. The LG also has an HDMI input, which is pretty handy. You can add a subwoofer and surround speakers to the Sonos too, but it's quite expensive, so at that price point you'd better go for a premium soundbar, or even maybe an AVR setup in my opinion

I can return the Sonos anytime before mid Jan so I am wondering if I should stick with it or try out the LG. 

Usage would be TV and Gaming mostly. Has anyone tried both? Sonos seems to get positive reviews but I am seen great to trash for LG.

Sonos Beam 2 or LG SP9YA?

I bought it little over a year and already had to be shipped for repair. Subwoofer won't connect to soundbar.

Ok sound, has its limits

I am looking at the Sonos Arc and the LG SN9YG. The former is running $800 and the LG on sale at $700.

LG OLED77CX TV and need a soundbar. I am really leaning toward an LG offering because I've had issues with different brands connecting properly. I will not buy Samsung again.

I have deeply enjoyed my sound bar! The sound has been amazing and I even decided to get the wireless LG rear speakers! Overall, my pride and joy of my movie watching experience. Unfortunately the subwoofer stopped pairing with the soundbar. LG customer support has been very helpful but it is a bit stressful needing to ship both the subwoofer and sound bar. Was a bit sad that it stopped working but I'll be glad to get it back from repairs! Overall my experience has been so good with it I plan on sticking with LG for my future entertainment purchases!

Amazing sound but some disappointment

From what i can tell this offers good stereo imaging and a fairly solid overall sound profile with the option to room scan and has synergy with the LG tv

The sound from both of these seem great though i hear lots about the q700 lacking bass but has amazing soundstage and Atmos performance 

Hey i’ve recently upgraded my tv from a base 55 inch Samsung lcd panel to the leg c1 oled and it’s been amazing, figured sound would the next upgrade but have been very confused by the options available as (at a budget) you either get one thing or the other!

Sound bar is wonderful when the e-Arc works! Although I bought it open box the store assured me it was in excellent condition. The sound bar is paired we a LG8570 UHD television. Often times when switching channels or watching a program the sound bar loses its sound completely. I have to go through the functions to return the sound or power off, which is very frustrating having to use multiply controls to restore sound to a highly expensive product
