 And you see it in the tail as well, you know, it's definitely thinner up at the top here of the tips and that nice gradually rounded shape. It performs exactly like it looks, really smooth, really easy to turn. And we do see the tail rocker as well, excuse me, you know, that's pretty long, a little bit lower than we see in the 106 and the 112, but still, you know, enough splay to make this thing playful and smeary in the soft snow while having enough of that effective edge to give it that more frontside and all-mountain personality that really increases the versatility of this ski in a 101. You know, to have this one perform with that all-mountain capability, but still have that free ride character, they do have to kind of, you know, pick and choose what they're going to do

 You know, more of the all-mountain shape combined with that freeride build and profile does make this stand out amongst a crowded field of, you know, about 100 millimeter underfoot skis. So this thing is built with a bamboo and poplar wood core, like the other Origin series skis. New for this year with all of the Origins is the VMT 1.0 core

 So, you know, almost a good upper third of the ski here when we decamber it, that rocker starts here. So this amount of the tip is rockered gradual at first and then a little bit more aggressive at the top. Definitely that's the free ride influence for this ski right here. You know, not a whole lot of dramatic taper, pretty rounded, you know, that's another aspect of this ski and the Origin series as a whole that makes it very attractive and very playful is just that really rounded shape

 So for skiers that don't want the 96 or the 106, you can get the 101. So they're just trying to split the difference there, kind of hit that 100 millimeter market. And this is a really nice addition. Definitely checks a lot of boxes for that all-mountain freeride skier

Check out the liberty origin 96. It's a similar ski but costs a couple hundred less. I got a pair of 101s this spring and like them.

My current skis are the cheapest ones I could find in Decathlon (173cm 68mm wide) so I'm more than ready to up my game. I've almost never left the groomers so I was looking for a ski that could let me learn to ski through powder while at the same time going down through pistes with relative speed. Would something like Skivek Loken 91 or 99 and 180cm length fulfill my desires?

I'm 180cm and 72kg, tend to be agressive and not afraid of challenges

Intermediate skier looking for new experiences

 Pretty minimal splay for how long this rocker profile is and that just gives you a nice smooth feeling. But when we talk about the roundness of the ski, I think this tapered shape and then the shape of the tail really really go well with the personality and character of this thing. Rounded, rounded tail. You can just picture it making round turns like almost in a circle

 A lot of that has to do with the core thickness as well as that poplar wood in there. So really nice blend of a lot of attributes in this 101 millimeter underfoot shape. Makes for a great blend of free ride and all-mountain skiing with that freestyle application with that tail. So great choice

 I mean it's actually pretty hard to decamber this ski. And then long tip rocker in the shovel here. So starting down about here. Gradual, gradual and then a little bit of a jut at the end

 I kind of like that shape. It allows you to put your own mark on the ski. The fact that it's flexible means that you're able to shorten it up, tighten it up, get a smaller turn radius. And then also the fact that it has that metal in there allows you to open it up a little bit

There's a lot of all mountain skis out there that carve well but are also playful enough to throw some tricks on and ski switch from time to time. The Blizzard Rustler 9 comes to mind. Also Line Sick Day 94, Salomon QST 98, Atomic Bent Chetler 100, Liberty Origin 96 and 101, Dynastar M-Free 99, Nordica Unleashed 98 (new for 2023 but available in some stores now). Aim for a length somewhere around your height or slightly shorter given your weight and ability level

I've been looking for new skis (First pair, only rented until now) and I'm a bit confused. I ski for about 9-10 years, but very occasionally, sometimes 2 times a year, sometimes once in 4 years. I'd call myself intermediate (here in Czech Republic i can easily ski a red, struggling a bit on the blacks but mostly manage to get them down without a fall). I ski on groomers, so the typical ski resort slope, but recently I started getting a bit bored on carving skis (Wide nose and tail, minimum under foot) and I'd love to throw in some tricks (once i learn them haha), hit some jumps, ski switch etc. But I'll mostly still ski groomers.

My question is, are there any twin tipped skis, or atleast partially twin twipped skis that I can use for normal carving on groomers and at the same time do the above mentionted? And which length would be great for me? (Intermediate, 55kg, 181cm). Is it too much to ask from one pair of skis?

Desperate with choosing new skis (M, 22YO, 55kg, 181cm)

I've liberty origin 106 and feels perfect for all conditions. Its wide and light for powder and quick turns, but also stable at high speed and cuts through chopped snow.

I’ve been using Atomic Vantage 85 for the last few seasons since I was just learning. However, I have been considering getting new skis (not that it’s necessary). Where I ski we get quite a bit of snow so I was wondering what size of ski would work best? I was thinking 100 (+5 or -5) would be a good width underfoot in order to do well in powder but not be too bulky for the rest of the hill. What sizes and more importantly what skis would you recommend? Thanks!

Does anyone know good skis for in-resort but off-piste skiing?

For your “pow” ski look at Origin Liberty 101 or 106 or Sir Francis Bacons. If you really wanted to splurge check out Moment Wildcat 108, Deathwish 104, or the Shaggy Ahmeek 105’s. Oh and don’t skimp on bindings. Tyrolia or Look are great brands

Looking at an 88 and 102ish for CO conditions, who wants something good for everything (!) from frontside to trees/moguls and those soft snow days. Im a solid intermediate and want to start hitting backcountry blacks later this season.

Thinking about a Declivity quiver (88 + 102) or a mix of Enforcer + Declivity. For a 200lb, unbooted 5'6 (168cm) guy, suggestions:

Declivity 88 @ 160cm or 168cm?
Declivity 102 @ 172cm - would it be too tall?

Enforcer 88 @ 165cm + Declivity Declivity 102 @ 172cm

First intermediate ski recommendations

I got the liberty origin 101 in 187mm late last year. I'm 6ft, 185lbs, and I am an advanced skier. The length definitely makes them somewhat less nimble in trees. That said I was able to use them on a couple of powder days at the end of last season and they were fantastic

I ski mostly on the East but doing a few west coast trips and looking for one quiver upgrade. I think I’ve mostly decided on Liberty Origin 96s. I am between 176 and 182 for length. I currently ride 173s but want something longer. I am 5’11 and roughly 170lbs, pretty strong skier, like to go fast and rip the trees and go off small jumps do some easy tricks etc. my friend who skis a similar style got 185cm skis last season and said he regrets it as they are tougher in tight trees and just not as easy/enjoyable to ride. What do you guys think?? Thanks in advance!

I’ve been skiing for my entire life and consider myself a fairly advanced skier. I’m looking for a ski that super playful and light, something that I can just play with and jump around with a lot of flex and pop. Nothing that’s purely a park ski. I’ve looked around and I’m considering the Black Crow Camox or the Line Chronic. Can someone make a recommendation based on my experience and preference? 

I’m 6’4 205lbs if that info is useful.

Need a ski recommendation.

I ski ~15 days a year and have had my liberty origin 96s for the past 4 seasons. They’ve been perfect all-around skis and I’ve had no issues with durability whatsoever

I'm very interested in the Origin 106.  What's the consensus on Liberty quality more recently?  I've found a lot of posts about low quality and durability issues, but those are nearly all from at least 5 years ago.  They feel great when I hold a pair in the shop.  They feel very balanced to me.  Has anyone had any issues with them more recently?
