Buy the Line Chronic if you love park laps but want something that won't feel out of place everywhere else on the mountain.

That being said - I’m not running either of those haha (like I said - cheap park skis). Probably want to start with like a Faction prodigy 1.0, armada ARV96, or a line chronic as a good place to learn. Chronics are super fun. Stable underfoot but still soft tip and tail to allow forgiveness if you don’t land perfectly.

For skis, I would suggest looking at the Line Chronic and Tom Wallisch Pro as they are each responsive, yet forgiving. They each strike a nice balance between stiff and snappy, and soft and forgiving. The Armada ARV 86 and 96 are also great, and similar.

Last season I hit some "thin cover" in the bumps and took a chunk out of the wood core, I was skiing on pair of 2005 skis since they were new. That forced my hand to buy a modern model and I sucked it up and got the 2020 equivalent of the skis I broke. I'm psyched to ski on the new tech. I'm kinda bummed though, I had the 2005 Line Chronic and they stopped making it, so I got the 2020 Supernatural.

Last year’s Line Chronic and Blend are going for $300ish online, which isn’t awful. But I’m not going to recommend someone whose most recent ski experience was on hard-charging race skis pick up a “playful” full-wood/carbon ski unless they’ve demoed how they ride first.
