Although it would certainly benefit from a longer handle, this skillet is still quite balanced &mdash; its 5-pound frame is very easy to wield compared to similarly-sized skillets. But if you are aiming to make large, single-pot meals, we suggest looking at some of the deeper options in this review. This pan is fine for dry frying bacon, but it will quickly fill up with oil if you try shallow fry chicken, and don't expect the sidewalls to block much of the splash-back. I've been using this skillet for about a month now, 3/4 times a week. Here's what I found. Seasoned the pan with butter and bacon fat numerous times the first week. Cleaned with hot water afterwards, paper towel dried, then sprayed with olive oil spray and wiped dry

 The main problem I've encountered is the uneven heat distribution. No matter how low or high the flame is under the pan, the center gets much hotter directly above the flame than on the edges. So much of a difference that bacon in the middle of the pan will be cooked and crispy at the same time another strip of bacon on the edge of the pan will still be raw. This happens no matter how high or low the flame is set

I'd imagine it's fine if you have an induction stove top but don't count on it if your stove actually emits heat.  I'm in the market for a lighter pan with a better handle/design.  The silicone handle is completely useless if you have a gas stove. Pan okay; silicone handle is useless

I bought this a little over a year ago and I'm finally reviewing it. It started to get rusted with the smell of rust. Not comfortable using it to cook my chicken breast anymore. I would have to throw it away

after purchase, I stumbled upon a number of other brands of an extremely comparable skillet for as much as half the price.

 Sound gross you say? But apparently heating these to 300 degrees kills all the germs.  Cons: they are heavy. So maneuvering and washing these are kind of a hassle.the handle is short and get super hot which can make taking them out of the oven kind of dangerous and difficult for a small wristed person with no upper body strength

 I like making omelettes on these because it cooks the eggs slowly. I tend to leave a mess when I flip omelettes but these cook more of the egg on top with out burning the bottom. I noticed a difference with using these for making pizza crust in the oven. I clean my pan by using a non abrasive sponge, water, wiping them dry, heating them in the stove to make sure they are super dry and oiling them

 I contacted the manufacturer and they told me instantly that it is okay since pre-seasoning can not ensure a perfect bottom. And pans may vary from each other. I am lazy to return and change one and it's not a big deal so I seasoned again and paid attention to keep the cast iron pot from rusting by baking it dry and adding a little bit oil all over the whole pan each time after I cooked. Hope this advice can help you on keeping this pan clean and durable

not oven); 3) After using the pan 10-12 times the edge of the silicon closest to the pad has started to deteriorate. The pre-seasoning aspect of this pan was so-so. My pan has benefited from additional seasoning, becoming more "non-stick" as it gets more use.

I grew up with cast iron and was wanting to get a piece to cook on after many years of not having it. Because I was concerned with the weight, I went with a 10" vs. a 12" skillet. This one is great! The weight is manageable, it heats more quickly than I expected and you can get nice searing with it

 I like the idea of using cookware that is not coated with a harmful nonstick coating. But looks like I will have to consider stainless steel or hard anodized aluminum instead.

 Worse, it's very difficult to clean off stuck on food. I had to scrape it off using a metal utensil, and then use a hard bristled brush to scrub off the rest. The pan is very heavy and cumbersome to manage. So if you have weak wrists, arthritis, or simply are not an experienced cook, this pan might be too much for you to deal with

EVERYTHING sticks. While it is "preseasoned", it's obviously not preseasoned enough to prevent food sticking. When I first bought it, I washed in it hot water, and then added another coat of oil. Even after that, food STILL stuck to it

I have to say this will be the first negative review I’m leaving on Amazon. I’m well aware not everything will be perfect through mail, but the packaging on these products was atrocious. Not only was there absolutely no packing materials between the two CAST IRON pans but there was barely any in the box. There’s a small scratch on the larger pan because the smaller one was sitting inside of it and probably rubbing the edges onto the other

The box didn’t look sturdy enough for a small rug let alone two roughly 10lb pans. Otherwise the pans are beautiful they look well made and very sturdy considering they held up in the cardboard box it was sent in

 Will review the other pan good or bad if I have any issues or positive comments to make. Giving it a 4 because I’m unsure if this is an amazon mess up or the seller, don’t want to see a company have a bad review if it’s not even their fault.

Unless you have strong hands, I can't recommend it. It's heavy, and even as a man myself, it's takes some strength to hold it up in my left hand, which is my weakest since I'm right handed.
