They can be used for just about any size and shape of ear thanks to their moldability. Once properly inserted, the putty creates a watertight seal making the Pillow Soft Silicones ideal for swimmers or those that don't like to get water in their ears while bathing. Although these plugs are considered disposable, they can be used up to five times, giving you a little extra value for your purchase. 
There are numerous benefits to the silicone putty outer ear design. However, inserting these plugs is more time-consuming than plugs that you roll between your fingers and insert into your ear canal. It took several attempts for our testers to get a good seal which can be quite frustrating at first. We didn't find these plugs terribly uncomfortable to sleep in, but foam versions are better for side sleepers. If blocking out sound is your prime objective, know that the Mack's Pillow Soft Silicone has a somewhat low noise reduction rating of 22 decibels. Even though this choice isn't suitable for everyone and has limited applications, we recommend these plugs for swimming and watersports.

I still order Macs ear plugs and have spend lots of money over the years on these plugs. I love them overall but one thing I have noticed over the last 2 years they are not a sticky as they were before which means they don't stick as well. Please start making them with more stick as I have invested lots over the years as they are comfortable. Don't lose another customer due to this

I really hope you make them more sticky than they are now or I may have to consider another brand after all these years

Buying these ear plugs for years and spend 60.00 a month or more every month.

 the concept is good and they do work for blocking out noise, but I have a few problems with them. Firstly the size of the 'plug' material is a little too much for me and you're not supposed to shove it into the ear canal.. so this leaves a bit of it outside the ear, which isn't comfortable laying on a pillow with it

I was really excited to get these because I’m such a light sleeper and none of the “normal” plugs cancel enough noise for me. The noise cancellation on these are great, but they kept falling out while I slept.
