 Marmot uses a synthetic 3m Thinsulate recycled featherless insulation to make the Avant a toasty option that rivals similar jackets, that use 700 fill power down. The big advantages to synthetic insulation are the durability and the ability to hold in body heat, even when wet Wow. I would still pair it with a hard shell for days when precipitation is expected, this jacket will hold up to cold damp New England, winters or a light drizzle on the trail. The outer fabric is a 20 denier, nylon, plain weave, which strikes a nice balance between durability and weight

 The fabric is a 2010 eur woven, baffle nylon, these baffles are actually pre, woven instead of stitched, so cold spots can be virtually eliminated by taking away the possibility of insulation. Shifting the insulation itself is a 3m Thinsulate featherless insulation. This is a semi recycled insulation that differs from traditional sheet synthetics, instead of being created in those sheets. It'S a loose fill insulation and it functions much more like down and is about as effective as 700 fill power down

  I'm 5'2" with an athletic build and big shoulders and have a size medium.  My only complaint about the fit is that it does feel a tad snug in the shoulders, but I knew a large would swallow me everywhere else.  This piece works fine as an outer layer on bluebird days, but is thin enough to become a midlayer underneath a shell if needed.  I have yet to be disappointed by Marmot and this piece is no exception

This jacket is new to me this fall season.  I bought it as an outer layer for the fall and winter, and for throwing on after a cold day on the slopes.  It is very warm for such a light piece. Excellent jacket

 It'S just a nice little rubber band stays nice and tight around your wrists. You can have a nice watch hidden under there, no problem. You know this will fray a little bit as time goes on, but nicely done really nicely done for a Mormon, and then we have a Marmot logo here. Logo on your chest, the other really cool thing about this jacket is: if you have this down jacket and you want to get a a rain jacket, also from Marmot, let make sure they're the same size

 I'Ve had this for over five years has not leaked at all gore-tex, but what I want to mention in this review, though, is that when you put this on, if they're the same size, it's amazing this almost every time the hood just automatically fits into that did. I make it in there. I think it did no okay, but there we go might be under no, I don't know we'll see, but you put that on and just live it zip. This up

 Let me just go kind of through all the features of the jacket, but first I'll start with the fit, since I have it on in just the way. It feels it's kind of tailored to a kind of an athletic shape. So if you do have a large belly, you might be able to fit in there, but uh. You know it's nicely kind of trimmed to fit

I had been looking for a serviceable winter coat literally for 5+ years now.  My search is OVER!  Much more than just serviceable, this coat is warm, cute, great for everyday. The styling is wildly fantastic.!   Not too "puffer"

I bought this for my daughter, without trying it on in store.  We've always had great luck with Marmot items, and this is no exception.  The quality and fit are great.  The color was a bit different than we expected (Mallard), but she loves it!
