No interior light?

Service tech came out and said that with the new technology, the moisture sensor was located in the front, behind the lint screen.  So if the front part of your clothes is dry, the machine stops drying to conserve energy, even if the clothes in the back are still damp. It was actually better to use Timed Dry and set it at half power. That means the dryer will go continuously for that alloyed time versus shutting down early and leaving you with wet damp clothes

 My basic requirements for the dryer were energy star, a sensor, and an inside light. The dryer as described was not an energy star but the dryer we received has an energy star sticker on it (good). The dryer was listed as having an interior light; it does not. The dryer allegedly has a sensor but it does not work at all leaving us to have to keep turning the dryer back on and to use the timed dry option (guessing the amount of time, of course)
