 The MS-Sculpt looks great, has a separate numbers pad. The Adesso is 1990s, long mechanical keystrokes, wide wide wide with an extended function keys an numerical keypad on the right —- I will never use it.  The ideal ergo keyboard? I think a normal sized MS Sculpt with two halves that you could change the angles, etc and then lock into place would be idea. For me this might be 30 degrees for the split, and 20-25 degrees for each side of the ‘tilt’. Hope this helps.

 I’ve used other Windows/Mac keyboards that didn’t seem to have this issue, but I guess it’s common.)  (Part of my ‘issues’ are wide shoulders, this makes the angle between my forearms greater than ‘normal’.) The Sculpt? Beautiful design, I like that it’s bluetooth, that it takes batteries, the key mechanism seems good. But the extra width is a deal breaker. If you’re over 6’ tall and need a keyboard for a home computer and never intended to use any other, or you type with two-fingers? Great, buy it

) After 50 years of closely spaced hands, I’m finding it difficult to adjust not only my hands, but my wrists and arms, which are accustomed to an almost perpendicular orientation. They’ll have to be re-trained for this to work. Straight row keyboards are challenging with arthritis, especially for the keys struck by a reaching forefinger. I am 47 - 

Ever since Covid started, people are zooming and slack chatting more than ever before.  By the end of the day, my hands hurt from typing/being on a keyboard.

I can't play my Fender more than 5-10 minutes and I don't know how to solve the problem.   

Anybody else have this issue or am I suffering from something else?

[DISCUSSION] My Corporate Job is ruining my Ability to Play.

 Instead of putting Y and B on both sides of the keyboard, since they live really in the middle, Microsoft made the N and T keys double-wide. This is a terrible design. For one, there's space to have put N and Y on both sides. Secondly, by making them double-wide, it means that instead of me getting "nothing" when I reach for B with my right hand, because the N key is double wide, I get a N typed, which is worse than nothing! Same thing when I try to type a Y with my left hand - I get a T beacause the T is double sized

T and N keys should be split.

Have you considered a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop? It comes with a separate numpad you can place wherever you want. And the keyboard does a very good job keeping your wrists in a neutral position. It's not mechanical or super custom fancy as most of the boards on here, but it's probably among the cheaper ergonomic keyboards if price is an issue. I know it was when I was a student :P  


Otherwise I got an ErgoDox EZ for programming work. Very nice keyboard as well, but I'll have to say the tenting on the ED EZ doesn't make up for the amazing negative tilt of the MS Sculpt Ergo.

Sooo the virus outbreak and ensuing quarantine made me overstrain my forearms, wrists and fingers. Just by gaming too much as well as programming on the side. I got a vertical mouse and that helped my right hand but I think I also need a new keyboard. I'm currently using my Logitech G213 Prodigy, and while it's not an actual mechanical keyboard I've liked it quite a lot, since before this I was used to 15€ (\~17.50$) boards. Although my body doesn't seem to agree. I think even just going for a mechanical keyboard might help my fingers a bit. Since I tend to mash the keys quite heavily. I'd probably need smth more specific for my wrists and forearms tho. I have limited space on my desk so anything super big like most of Microsoft's boards are out. I do however want to retain a numpad if possible, I use it quite a lot.

Looking for an ergo keyboard, IT student with RSI-like issues.

The keyboard stopped working entirely from normal use after 2 years - just stopped dead

Intensive keyboard usage had then worsened the injuries in the long term. Current keyboards: I decided to try ergonomic keyboards two years ago and acquired a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop, which really changed my life : Pain was less intense at the end of the day.

While my 3-star rating reflects the lack of attention to order detail, the "yes - I would recommend this product" is based on the keyboard's ergo-friendly features. Thanks.
