 I can see why it's Mr. Janich favorite.  Handle also seems slightly small for my hand in the primary grip.

 I'd also prefer the rat tail butt of the handle be given a contour thats's more suited to applying pressure/providing security as well as being better shaped for thumb-capping in reverse grip. Since Mr. Janich recognizes the importance of the little fingers in grip strength I hope the next gen fixes this.  Definitely a try before you buy item in my opinion

Pros; This is the sharpest knife out of my 20 plus knife collection. Lock up is perfect, fit and finish perfect. Blade is perfectly centered. Beautiful blade, and looks awesome

 Overall quality is 5 stars.  Cons But I considered returning this knife because the handle Is uncomfortable and too small. I do have extremely large hands but I cannot open this knife quickly " which is the Intention of the build" because the hole on the blade is too small or too far back on the blade for me to reasonably flick it open. In my grip it is very uncomfortable

I like Spyderco knives and I think they offer a great value for the money. The Yojimbo 2 is no different. Decent blade steel. Decent size - about halfway in between the PM2 and PM3

Always wanted one

 It will remain in my rotation with my spyderco manix2 XL and my benchmade Contigo. Purchase this knife, you will NOT be disappointed.

 The blade on it (cpmS30v) is a GREAT material that holds a razor sharp edge, and is incredibly easy to sharpen-on my sharpmaker. The g-10 scales are beautifly flush with all hardware and give a nice firm grip without tearing up your hands or pockets. The lock mechanism is flat out fantastic, allowing a closure that is up there with benchmade's Axis lock system. This knife is basically a big razor with a handle on steroids

 The edge reminds me of a razor, and you can shave with it right out of the box. Blade has no play as you would expect from a quality Spyderco, and is lightning fast opening with a flick of the wrist. One hand operation is extremely efficient. S30V steel holds an edge like you would expect

 Great locking mechanism as well. The Y2, PM2, and the Sage are pretty much my top three in my current EDC rotation. The only problem with carrying this knife is that you can't stop looking at the beautiful blade. You'll find yourself always wanting to just sit and admire the quality and style of this blade
