Mizuno got lost

 I was just stunned They said there's supposed to be even a thin layer of copper layer right there if that's from the copper or that's just from the finish But if I'm getting through that in about 10 shots and then by the end of my bucket of balls at the range I didn't even get to a bunker I was gonna hit a bunker and I decided there was no need to hit a bunker You can tell this finish is not gonna last why these companies keep making finishes that just come right off like that I understand it's hard to get it to stay on there. It's gonna go through standing It's gonna go through a lot of abuse but if something comes off after 10 shots Why even bother like cool looks great when you buy it then you go hit it around a few times like that Like it's just unacceptable. I feel like there's really no need to keep doing that.  Hey guys, it's about 6 30 a.m. I could hardly sleep last night because I'm so excited to try this new club I got my hands on the new Mizuno t22. So let's get into some of the details right now So with Mizuno's new t22 wedge here comes in three different finishes You've got raw chrome and the highly anticipated and personally I think the best looking wedge out there the denim copper So with the denim copper and the chrome there's actually a layer of copper that Mizuno says actually gives it a softer feel than normal Forged iron that would obviously that's what they're known for and they've now moved that over to their wedges This is supposedly what they did originally back with their mp20 lines again You've tour pros different prototypes some with a base copper layer and some without and ask them if they could tell the difference Most of them were able to say that they did have a softer club with one verse the other they didn't know what it was About so we're gonna have to go and see if that translates over to this wedge with all clubs in wedge I'm always very skeptical of these finishes

2 of a degree difference to path, that's the important bit. Lie angle of 0.2 is 0.0, again custom fit, no difference, and delivered loft 45

 You could argue that the sole thickness is slightly different, and it hasn't got quite so much an aggressive top line, as in on the old T20, there was quite a thick top edge. You didn't really see it because it was chamfered off at the top, but it was actually quite a lot of meat up there, and I was just basically trying to get the center of gravity slightly higher up, get the flight slightly lower down, a bit more spin and all that lot, yadda yadda blah. Right, so let's just hit this a few times, and then we'll go over to the other ones. So, let's go get them on there

 So, what's that? 200 rpm less? Now, if I honestly thought, I'll put all the other information there, you can sort of see the differences between them. It's a slight difference in ball speed by 0.2, there's a slight half a degree additional in launch, but that again, that could be the fact that it's quite not as as much friction as without the rust. So, rather than grabbing and spinning, this one is slightly more rolling up the face and not quite giving as much spin, but yeah

Mizuno T22 Wedges are awesome.

 I've got the 54 degree. This is an eight bounce and it's a D grind. So I've got a little bit of heel and toe relief, a little bit of that trail edge relief on this as well. So it's not a huge amount of bounce for a sand iron really, an eight degree

 I think really three finishes there to suit your eye appearance. They all feel really good off the club face as we know and expect from Mizuno that grain flow, forging of the head. We've got the copper sort of layering on there. Beginning with the chrome, that copper is obviously underneath as well

 For me, the looks are really, really important and then probably secondary to that is then how it sort of feels and maybe how it sort of performs. Always quite fussy on the wedge and when I say that is how that leading edge sort of flows into the front of that hose and that's really, really nice. I mean, it's just a slight elevation forward from that leading house hosel, but not very round. I don't like it too rounded, quite a squat blade, which is good

Distressed after a few rounds

 So for us, we're very cognizant to make sure we've got a lot of different bounce options. And in general, more bounce is your friend because more bounce basically is going to deliver a more consistent ball base angle and ball angle of attack to the ball for more consistent launch parameters, time in and time out, regardless of conditions. So when you look at our line, we are pretty generous on the bounce. That being said, we've got different grinds as well because where bounce typically could become your enemy is if you're wanting to do some of those skill shots where you're really opening the face and if it's too bouncy, the leading edge tends to rise

 On a pitching wedge, you don't need it as much and it's more of a full shot club, so you can keep that mass a little bit lower. But as loft increases, you want to bring that spin and that trajectory down from there. You can definitely tell when you look at just the toe of the club, just staring at it from this perspective like Eric's getting on camera here. You can tell the tapering of where the weight's up there in the CG

 Yep. I think you nailed it. And you're absolutely right. That myth of if you're good, you don't need as much bounce as a total fallacy
