 It's too subtle I struggled and struggled in this demo to try and show you the range of it But as I'm spinning through the knobs If you've probably noticed you can't hear that much of a change certainly can in the rate and certainly you can in the depth I don't find the The cut sort of EQ the cut based EQ very useful People who are looking for a real subtle chorus with a lot of nuance This is probably your thing, but I was just sort of surprised. It just doesn't sound really big It doesn't really seem to push Me into that chorus territory from the 80s. I've tried and tried to make friends with this I'm not sure I'm gonna keep it on my board. I'm sorry MXR, but this pedal just doesn't really get me there There's probably some other options

 I think I'd rather have the Julia for flexibility but I think the MXR is cheaper. Yeah I think this one probably fits a little bit better. In a budget. In a budget and then also Julia's 200 bucks

so here's the spot I'm in; I've been playing for a few years and for the last year I wanted to buy a chorus pedal and possibly a reverb one too. but I'll be frank I'm afraid to ask anybody; what are some pretty solid chorus pedals that aren't too expensive?? I'm kinda wanting to shoot for almost a lofi or math-rock sound when I play.

I'm really embarrassed about asking people I know about pedals

Versatile Chorus Pedal

 Now if we increase the level all the way now so we can really hear the rate and depth controls. That's where we started off I'll back off just a touch. Okay now let's play with the depth control again so we'll bring the depth control all the way up and again listen to how musical this stays. Can just hear the ramp as it goes over and modulation starts again

 Now that's useful because you can set the rate and depth higher but so you get more kind of craziness and intensity from the Bucket Brigade but the lovely thing about Bucket Brigade chips is they remain pretty musical all the way through their range unlike some digital choruses. I love digital chorus but analog is kind of really where it's at for this kind of sound. So we can actually increase let's say in this case the depth okay and then if we bring down the level we can retain that high depth in terms of the chorusing but not have it so overpowering that's going to cause issues for our sound. Now if we increase the level again you can hear what we end up with so it's a really really powerful control and allows us to really shape the kind of sound that we've got the amount of the sound

 So we can actually increase let's say in this case the depth okay and then if we bring down the level we can retain that high depth in terms of the chorusing but not have it so overpowering that's going to cause issues for our sound. Now if we increase the level again you can hear what we end up with so it's a really really powerful control and allows us to really shape the kind of sound that we've got the amount of the sound.  Now if you don't know what that is, essentially the Bucket Brigade is the classic delay chip that you would find in all the analog gear from many years ago that gave us all the classic vintage tones that we all know and love now. The things that we refer to as analog in a kind of lovely reminiscing way and think of them as sounding warm and beautiful. In this case it's the real deal. It's got a true Bucket Brigade chip in there so it has that lovely liquidy sound
