JBL Synthesis System, a dream come true

These speakers were very difficult to find in the US as they were primarily marketed in Asia. The setup provides a very engaging sound that makes you tap your foot along to the music.

I was thinking of getting a 2M Blue, but at $240, not sure if I would really hear that much a difference, that's not a drop in the bucket. THen I heard about the Nagaoka MP-110, and while "warmer" than the 2M Blue, people seem to really like it, and it's only $150.

I’m looking to upgrade my turntable to one in the price range of $1k-$2k. What are my best options and should I be getting one that requires a pre-amplifier that’s not built in? If so which one?

The mid-range direct drive turntables from Technics, Pioneer, Micro Seiki or other Japanese brands are the most reliable. The is also a somewhat affordable new one, the Technics SL-100c. \- budget for a good cartridge with a good styles in the $150 to $300 range: AT-VM95ML or better, like the AT-VM540ML or Ortofon 2M Blue or Bronze, Nagaoka MP-150, Goldring 1042 or better. Even if you buy a second hand turntable, usually you will have to buy at least a new stylus and you might as well choose a cartridge to your liking.

Looking for my first cartridge upgrade! This is my setting: RegaP1, Dali Spektor 2, REGA IO amp... any recommendations?

I have a Nagaoka cartridge in my Thorens TD-160, and find it to be absolutely amazing for all types of music. I was prompted to buy it mainly by this video, which does some great A/B testing between the MP-150 (which is exactly $300 on Amazon right now) and the much-more-expensive Hana EL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oowfH1DllXI. I ended up doing a little more research and buying the MP-200, as I had a little more room in the budget; however, the MP-150 is supposed to be fantastic.
