Looking for a 3inch self inflating or durable insulated fully inflatable pad. For backpacking primarily but weight is not a huge factor depending on what it does. Am about 200lbs, 5'10" with back and neck issues that do best with side or stomach 3/4. 

Currently stacking and older self inflating Thermarest with a closed cell pad, would be tough to get bigger and heavier than this combo. Have been steering away from inflatables due to reports of easy leaking and uneven support, but that's all third hand info.

Doing a bit more research, a few camping focused blogs and media publications recommended inflatable sleeping pads in the $150-$200 range.

So my question really is, is it worth spending the money and buying the Cadillac of sleeping pads? Do they last any longer? More durable? More comfortable?

Need help with my sleeping system. I tend to sleep on the side and currently i need to constantly switch sides since i lose feeling in the arm im resting on eventually.

(Note: to make it a little more compact, I recommend removing it from the stuff sack and folding it into a square instead of rolling it up. I find it takes up much less space in my pack when folded.)

Hey y'all! I'm 6'3" about 260lbs and getting some gear ready for this spring.  I'm looking to get the following and could use some recommendations. 

**Backpack:**  I was thinking Osprey Aether 70l, I tried it on at REI and it fit pretty well. Budget is &lt;$250

**Shelter:** here's where I'm at a loss,  I was thinking rei half dome or a lunar duplex but I have no idea how I'd fit.  If it can be 3 season(4 if I get creative)  with 2 doors and a solid rain fly that fits 2 people I'd be willing to spend around $350 or more if it's absolutely worth it

**Headlamp:** I was going to get a BD spot or storm unless there's any violent objections.  Id replace with something better down the line

**Sleeping bag:** Nemo forte 20

**Sleeping pad:** please help,  I'm a side sleeper normally, I'll pay for comfort. 

**Poles:** I keep reading conflicting info on collapsing vs non, carbon fiber vs metal etc... I'm a big guy,  and I'd prefer not to blow my back out carrying unnecessary weight but I also don't want to eat shit because it breaks.  

I'm good on footware. If anyone has any recommendations for essential gear like cookware, stuff sacks,  etc.. (especially  stuff I can easily find used)  I'd be open to hearing suggestions!
