Omega Globemaster

I first tried this Globemaster on in a store in Paris on a whim and instantly fell in love. A year later I bought one in pristine condition from another seller, in time for my wedding. Honestly this is my grail - it’s incredibly elegant (even on my hairy wrist) and I lose moments just admiring the face and the way the dial turns pink when light hits the bezel just right.

There’s nothing particularly wrong with the Globemaster but it doesn’t do much to catch my attention either. I do think Omega movements are more interesting to look at, but if you’re going for an interesting movement I don’t think you’d choose Rolex or Omega.

I bought an Omega Globemaster and put it on a non-Omega strap (20mm). The strap has the same width as the Omega one but I couldn’t get it off without cutting it open because there was no space for the spring bar tool to get in between the lugs and the strap. I probably should have thought about that before putting it on the non-Omega strap but I didn’t.

Loved the number cruncher for some time now and will probably pick it up down the line. It’s my favorite MJW and since I’m an accountant by heart, it kind of resonates with me. Also can’t go wrong with a sub. My ideal collection would look similar (Everyday: Omega Globemaster, Dressy: JLC MUT Moon in StSt, Tooly: GO SeaQ, Fun: Number cruncher).
