 This year that I thought that it would kind of carry over. I know the a pros running better sensor that are lenses, but I just I was expecting more. The regular lens and the wide-angle are decent, but the telephoto is non-existent. It'S a digital zoom and the macro lens is just it's no good

 And it's going to be priced supposedly at the equivalent of 400 US dollars, which is incredibly inexpensive for a oneplus phone. So this product, the 1 plus Z, fits like in order for that thing to exist, you need to have very particular pricing in the rest of your of your repertoire: phones right so in Asia. It makes sense and in Europe, if you look at the pricing of these phones, it makes sense that cheap one plus Z can slot in nicely, but that phone cannot exist in North America. I don't think that they're gon na bring that one plus Z into the US or Canada it just doesn't fit

OnePlus 8 Review - The Master Plan to OnePlus Z

I thought well I guess I'll have to try something new. I first tried the S20 Ultra but ended up returning that within 7 days because of the camera and duplicative apps. I later ended up trying the OnePlus 8 pro, and the camera and software were better than the S20 Ultra but it still wasn't pixel level of refinement and tweaks.

Pixel superfan tried to walk away.

 It focuses so quickly across all cameras, the colors are super vivid and bright with nice contrast and I love how I can get insanely close to a subject and it still focuses without issues at all. Now I never really used much of the 30x zoom but it seems good and it can be useful to see things from far away. The selfie camera is good but I don't really care for the face smoothing. The overall camera quality is so good like for sure flagship level

 I wouldn't recommend this phone with that display issue but if your unit is good then that's awesome.

 So this is still high refresh rate, so this is a cost-saving trade-off. That makes perfect sense. It'S still a really smooth responsive screen. We'Ve seen other phones bring high refresh rate down in price, so it doesn't really make this one stand out anymore like it used to, but that's not a complaint at all, I'm clearly a fan of high refresh rate and I'm glad to see it everywhere, plus if You'Re, if you're still in the mindset of you work for oneplus and you're, trying to cut down on things you get to say you know, high refresh rate and high resolution are nice

 It'S a fast phone, definitely love that. But there are a few things here: cut down to save cost and I'll. Compare this a lot to the 1+8 pro. So if you haven't watched that it's the previous video, firstly pull the like button, if you want to watch it to catch up, that's there, but the story is if you work for one plus, and you started off with this nine hundred two thousand dollar phone and You'Re like alright, what are we gon na cut out of this phone to get the price way down, but still give people a pretty close to a flagship experience? What would we do well? This is what they did

 For the cheapest phone, the best budget phone and so one plus came along and it sort of slipped right in the middle, they were undercutting the flagships. They positioned the cells as flagship killers because they were somewhere in the middle. But now today we have what like 200 to $ 300 budget phones. We have our 400 500 $ 600 mid-range phones

But I expected it to at least out perform my Galaxy Note 8. In most cases it does but sometimes my Note 8 has better details in the shadows and frankly that's disappointing

There is no reason to buy a Oneplus phone at their current price points anyway.

I always wondered why google smartphones had lower geekbench scores. Also MIUI had better score that every custom ROM I ever tested, but the ROMs never had any UI stutters like MIUI.

I then realized benchmark scores fucking don't matter unless it's a real world test like gaming or encoding/decoding a video etc.

Unrelated to this, my general experience with OnePlus has been lukewarm. OxygenOS is fast and snappy with some nice features. BUT OnePlus is terribly slow in fixing bugs. They took 6+ months to fix the issue where accessibility permissions would be revoked every time I took an extended screenshot. And the photos loading slowly in the Gallery app issue still hasn't been fixed completely. And they all started after I upgraded to OxygenOS 11.

Another thing that's somewhat disappointing is the camera performance. Yes, I know the OnePlus 8 doesn't have a great camera and I knew what I'm buying. But I expected it to at least out perform my Galaxy Note 8. In most cases it does but sometimes my Note 8 has better details in the shadows and frankly that's disappointing. GCam helps so clearly the hardware is capable of decent photos. But that's not provided by OnePlus. The online community makes that and imo the users shouldn't be responsible for fixing the phone's issues.

Basically their software support hasn't been up to par despite having great hardware and a smooth OS.

I gave up on Oneplus after the 6T. I fricking love the 6T and it's price. Now ever Oneplus is just way too pricy for me. Plus there is not very much software support after two years in my experience

Who cares? Those synthetic benchmarks were never accurate or useful for anything. I remember running this garbage benchmark on my previous Samsung phone and each time getting significantly different results.
