 I have a 130 inch screen and the quality is incredible with the Optoma. I was concerned with the color wheel not being RGBRGB because I read that this would inhibit the colors. I'm completely satisfied with the quality of the picture though. Another issue I read about was that the blacks were not black enough

 I returned this projector and bought an Epson. I still stand behind my original comments however. The picture for this price is outstanding.

I've had a Mitsubishi HC3000 for years and was happy with the picture. It ended up being a victim of a lightning strike and it was cheaper to buy the Optoma HD141X then to get the HC3000 repaired. I'm amazed how much better the picture is compared to my old projector. In large part due to stepping up to 1080p, I'm sure

 I have multiple 60 inch tv screens and other tv's and plenty of electronics around the house. I'm very picky when it comes to image quality but this projector was reviewed well and it was at a great price.  I purchased this setup with a 120 inch motorized projection screen from home gear.  I believe most cable tops out at 720P/1080i and I think that's what the lowered image quality comes from. I think this is overall a great startup projector but it's not for someone who is willing to compromise image quality and can afford a 1000 dollar + Projector. It's is definitely worth the price though.  That night, I packed up the unit and contacted Amazon. They agreed to give me a full refund of the item, and I opted to buy the equally well reviewed (on Amazon) and nearly universally better reviewed among forums and tech critics (if that's what they should be called, I can't think of an actual title for them) BenQ 1070.  The conclusion to my novel or a review is that I believe if and when the Optoma HD141X is functioning as it is designed to, it is quite impressive, especially for the price. However, the back to back defective units, with their unique and shared issues combine with the lackluster customer support left me with little confidence in the Optoma brand

 While both are excellent pictures, at least with my set up, the BenQ has brighter and deeper colors and produces a deeper black. I wish I had better luck with Optoma, but in the end, I believe it lead me to a better product (albeit only marginally) so long as it doesn't start tanking on me.  I hope this review was helpful. This was my first go at setting up a home theater for my home. I did some research, selected the key items that would make up the core of my theater set up. I ultimately selected the Optoma HD141X because of the generally very good reviews and the price. With the minimal amount of money I had invested into my setup, I was amazed at how well it all came together

 It was so impressive in fact that I feared the BenQ, even with nearly all of the professional reviews touting it as having a better picture than the 141X, would not be as good, and I would be in limbo as to whether or not to roll the dice on another Optoma or deal with a slightly less impressive product. Gladly I can say that in my limited time with the BenQ, it was immediately apparent that it was producing what I can only describe as a better picture and having a quiet and consistent fan (the Optoma's fan is probably ever so slightly quieter than the BenQs when it's not going crazy). A very good projector when it works (which in my experience was not often)

 Having previously owned for 4 years an excellent Optoma HD600X (1600 lumens, 720p and "3D Ready" (which required the additional Optoma 3XL box to work which I never bothered buying!)), I was looking forward to the upgrade to 1080p and full 3D. The HD141X is very quiet and considerably brighter at 3000 lumens which makes daylight viewing possible, with the blinds admittedly closed, unlike with the HD600X. When it comes to the picture, I have to admit that I was expecting more and was slightly underwhelmed when first using it. It is very good but I found I had to fiddle with the various settings (found decent ones on t'internet) to get a decent picture

Unlike the HD600X which I never tweaked from the day I opened it to the day I handed it over to my son (who is now entertaining his friends at Uni with it!)

this took a few minutes of back and fourth to get right) I have it installed in a completely light controlled room (basement) and projecting onto a 110" screen. and it looks fantastic! both 1080 cable tv, bluerays (playe don a PS4) and gaming all look great. at this price point I can't NOT recommend this projector to anyone looking to get into a projector set up with out busting the wallet. once this is set up you wont regret it

The image looks pretty good, since it's HD. Colors are good and the luminosity of the projector is also a great plus, since it helps when you don't have a completely dark room. One issue I have (and I don't seem to be the only one) is that when the image changes, for example a dark room, or night scene that suddenly changes to daylight, the colors fade and look pretty bad for about 10 seconds. It doesn't happen all the time, but it is noticeable
