So I have an older projector that's about to kick the dust I dont really know much about what's on the market anymore and I'm looking for the best budget projector for gaming, preferably one that I can replace the bulb whenever that day comes, the one I currently have they don't make bulbs for anymore. I found the Optoma Hd14x and was wondering if that's a good projector or if there is anything better in that price range? Thanks guys!

<p>Edit: currently don&#39;t know the distance between wall to wall I will be moving into a new house and haven&#39;t had a chance to measure, walls are white, price range is around 500 usd. This will be placed on a shelf maybe ceiling mounted.</p>

243x is very good for the money.

 However, it is lightweight plastic and the backlot buttons are crazy bright. Like you could use them to navigate your home on the dark instead of your smartphone flashlight.  Out of the box I’m stoked. However, I’m crossing my fingers and hoping mine last longer than3-4months loke some other reviewers here

 So many choices out there today.  I received this unit today n one day from Amazon. Cool!  Out of the box, the immediate difference from our old Optoma 529 was brightness. Wow! Some reviews mention that this is bright enough to watch with some lights on on the room and there’s statements are 100% legitimate

In the market for a $250-$500 projector for the basement. Been looking the past few days, and feeling overwhelmed by how many options there are. 

My layout is set up nicely for a 80”-84” screen, and the projector throw distance can range from 1-9 feet. 

Environment is very dark all day long with no lights on (although I’d ideally have a few lights on). 

Sports viewing will be the vast majority of its use, so I don’t know if frames per second or Hz come into play here. I know TV’s with a higher refresh rate are better for sports and action scenes. 

Any recommendations at all would be greatly appreciated. More information available upon request.

First timer, and feeling overwhelmed and nervous. Can you just tell me what to buy?

 Opening the box it looked quite a bit cheaper than my Epson, with a fairly dinky remote and no real instructions to speak of. Using the same universal mount I put it up, powered on and went to work. It was fairly easy to flip the image and get into focus, and had some controls to get the tilt correct. Immediately I was struck with the brightness, which was better than what I had with the Epson

 No-frills, but bright, with a sharp 1080p picture, quiet and easy operation, this one does the job just fine.

Going to work for just about everyone
