 You know, as you're carrying it all day long and um, it's it's breathable, it's it's pretty flexible, it's nice. and then also, there's a slot here for a water bladder. So I have three, uh, leaders right here and it's more than capable to actually have that right here and comfortable as well to have if we can. look in the front right here

Osprey Daylite Plus REVIEW: To Hike or Not to Hike?

 It's also means have to keep more things in the main compartment, all jumbled together.  But, if my deal-breakers aren't important to you, it may be a great bag. The straps are well-designed, and the laptop pocket is padded. I've been carrying my laptop in an older Osprey bag which has a very similar pocket without padding (probably not originally designed for a laptop) and I do really like that bag

 Sure, there's two open-top mesh pockets, and the one on the front, but those aren't ideal for many things. If it were meant to be just a hiking pack, I'd forgive the lack of commuter-friendly organizational features, but it's a laptop bag. If I'm carrying a laptop, I probably have other things I'd like to organize - pens, chargers, cables, phone, bandaids, meds, cards. This doesn't have a single place I could put a few business cards or things I'd like to keep flat, and no non-mesh, zippered pockets to protect things I'd like to keep dry & dirt-free

 This pack would've been great, I mean, it's well-constructed, lots of space, some good features. Unfortunately, it's sorely lacking in inner zippered pockets and I have to return it. Sure, there's two open-top mesh pockets, and the one on the front, but those aren't ideal for many things. If it were meant to be just a hiking pack, I'd forgive the lack of commuter-friendly organizational features, but it's a laptop bag

 The straps are well-designed, and the laptop pocket is padded. I've been carrying my laptop in an older Osprey bag which has a very similar pocket without padding (probably not originally designed for a laptop) and I do really like that bag. The stiff-ish foam backing of the pack makes it easier to manage getting the laptop in/out, and also means the bag looks ok and still distributes weight even when I'm only carrying a few small items.  There's also a really excellent lifetime repair/replace guarantee - I'd contacted Osprey about repairing my rather old bag (which they would, or replace if they couldn't) and, though I ultimately decided to just get a new pack, my interaction with their service team left me with a good impression of the company

Dangit, so close to being great..

 This pack was purchased by me on a complete whim without any of the usual research and preparation that goes into me choosing a new piece of gear. and I have to say that I have absolutely loved it over the last four years of using it. So in this video, I want to do a much more in-depth review to give you my thoughts over those four years of hiking on this what I think is definitely one of the best day packs on the market. Now, if you're a beginner and you're still trying to figure out all the things you need to about this thing that we call hiking, chances are you've been walking around gear shops for a little while, or perhaps even searching online and trawling through forums as to exactly what is the best day pack for hiking? Well, I'm here to confess to you that I have only ever used one day pack for hiking in my entire last three years since I started this channel

 But I have to say that I've hiked with this pack on some very hot days and I've never really noticed that my back is sweating overly much from using this pack at the end of the day. Despite the fact that they look it, they really aren't deep enough to carry a full bottle of water in. and I find that when I do manage to stash a bottle of water in those side pockets, if I just bend over slightly while I'm hiking during the day, often my bottles are falling out. That being said, though, when you combine those side pockets with the straps that attach that front expandable pouch, this becomes a great place to store some of those longer items such as tripods and even treating poles if you're not always using them through the day

 and I find that when I do manage to stash a bottle of water in those side pockets, if I just bend over slightly while I'm hiking during the day, often my bottles are falling out. That being said, though, when you combine those side pockets with the straps that attach that front expandable pouch, this becomes a great place to store some of those longer items such as tripods and even treating poles if you're not always using them through the day. Aside from that, the only other real issue that I have with this pack is something that's not really Osprey's fault because it's not advertised as such, but I do miss the fact that it is not weather resistant or waterproof. If I go out hiking with this pack on a day hike and I know that the forecast is going to be for rain, then I know that I have to use a special pack liner inside to keep all of my gear dry

 Also incorporated into the shoulder straps is a nice little grab handle, which isn't too obtrusive. I'm not a big fan of having a massive grab handle on the top of a pack, but I like this one because I can still grab it quickly if I need to, but it's actually built into the strapping and harness system and as I mentioned a little bit earlier in the video, if I am carrying those heavier loads, I can always use the attached belt strap to take a little bit less of the weight off of my shoulders and put it more on my hips. It is worth noting that that belt strap is completely removable if you're somebody who prefers not to have that on a day hike pack. All in all, over the last three or four years of using this pack as my main day hiking pack, I've really come to enjoy it and love it

LIGHTWEIGHT HIKING PACK: Is this the BEST Hiking Day Pack?? Full OSPREY DAYLITE PLUS Review

I typically used this bag as a day pack when I went for walks or small hike where I didn't need much gear and didn't have much issues at first, the bag is light and has tons of compartments in all locations but here is when the problems began. I had to do a lot of traveling on foot for my job when we have to go to the city, I figured this bag would be perfect well I was wrong, the first issue is the side compartments what is the purpose of them as my water bottles grew bigger in volume so did the problems with keeping them in the side pouches. For some odd reason they cut low and don't secure bigger water bottles well especially if you do not strap the kangaroo pouch buckles through the loops, so I ended up up not using the side pouches and and taking up space in the kangaroo pouch for the water instead ( I used to keep my first aid kit and headphone case there) secondly as the weight of the items in the pack increases so does the discomfort level of the suspension straps, the plastic strip that secures the sternum strap just dig into my armpits and causes so much discomfort. The straps deffinely maintain breathablity but I cannot keep my sternum strap buckled because I constantly take the bag on and off, I typically walk 8 miles or more a day and the backpack is on me from 6:00am to 5:00pm so I put the word daypack to use, I only carry paperwork portable cell charger a security screw driver and a small crescent wrench inside

What are the side pockets for?

 go hike in. This is an awesome bag. It really is a great bag. I Really really do like this bag

 But it's not enough for negatives to me to make. Another slight negative about this bag is the zipper here. So for me personally I love paracord I prefer the main opening to be different to then the other smaller side pockets just so you can tell different tonight. But to be fair for the price of it and how these are attached here, all I've done is I've just put some paracord through and then made my own Zoar zipper pool

 In essence, really on this bag you've got a few main compartments. so you've got the actual main opening here, which I have changed here for some paracord of my own design only because the zips here are the same sort of structure. so I wanted something a bit different but I could feel when it was dark nighttime just to tell difference. So that has a main opening

 Cons: Really I'd like it to be a little bit more rigid now I Only say that up here in this department here. So if the bag is relatively empty, if you have some small items in here and they're slightly heavier, this tap bag has a tendency to just be a little bit of floppy. But it's not enough for negatives to me to make. Another slight negative about this bag is the zipper here

 Overall: It is an okay day pack for hiking. And will continue to use it until I find something with the Futures I'm looking for. Don't let my review scare you though. Picture shows mesh pocket with only a 20oz smartwater bottle in it

 Sternum straps extremely long with no way to keep them from flopping all over your chest. (I used small pieces of Velcro to secure them. Overall: It is an okay day pack for hiking. And will continue to use it until I find something with the Futures I'm looking for

Pros: Very well ventilated shoulder straps and backing. Sleek design with nice cinch straps. Nice size main compartment and mid pocket. Zippers don't snag and seem of very good quality with pull attachments on each zipper(very nice not chintzy)

Day hiker review

 So first off, you've got, of course it's going to be on the other side. You've got a little front pocket on the front. Traditional, you know, hip strap. Should I say just a bit of inch webbing? one inch webbing on there

 which is really, really cool. Anyway, let's take a closer look at the key features. So first off, you've got a nice front pocket on here. It's got a zipper on there, which means whatever you pop in there will stay safe and secure

 Um, there's lots of space inside here using the jelly pouch, the front pocket, the the kind of the front pocket on the top there. and then you've got the main thing there's there's basically there's lots of things you can put in here and organize your kit properly. and the fact that you have compression straps on the side as well means everything's safe and secure. And if you're just after a day bag to go for a hiking trip, so you want to go hiking for the day, you don't necessarily want a massive traditional bag or you want a bag where you can wear it obviously commuting, but also as well you can take it on a hiking adventure

 And so basically this really is ideal if you are carrying slightly heavier loads or if you're backpacking for a long amount of time and you just want to help lift that weight up and make it more comfortable around your hip system. Lift that up, clip that on, tighten now and then. Hey, Presto. It's just going to help alleviate some of that pressure from the overall weight

I never really had the love of Osprey packs that some people have but I bought this pack on a recommendation from a hiking group for a day hike pack. Its ok and serviceable at a reasonable price but not great. It has a hip strap (not a belt) and a sternum strap. It hold everything I need for a day hike and has a rear hydration bladder pocket

I bought this bag on an Amazon deal and was excited to dip my toe into the world of Osprey packs. It did not live up to the expectations I had based on the pack's "big brothers" in the Osprey line.  The yoke-style straps are very uncomfortable for me and dig badly into my neck. I suspect this style of strap is simply bad for short people
