Skimmer 16 does not have advertised scratch resistant pocket

 There's this top handle and it does have these adjustable padded shoulder straps as well and you got this chest strap so you can distribute the weight evenly and it also has this removable 20 millimeter hip belt as well and let's take a look in the front. You got a small little zipper pocket and it has that nice material where you can store your sunglasses and it won't scratch it. There is this key hook and let's take a look on the inside. Not as good as older versions of the backpack

I bought this pack for my fiance so they she would have her own hydration pack on (usually short) hikes rather than sharing my small CamelBak. She loves it, and I think it's better than my CamelBak and will be looking to get an Osprey for myself. What makes the Osprey a great hydration pack, IMO, is the bladder. Instead of a large single-reservoir bladder (like the CamelBak I have) that creates a bulge at the bottom, the Osprey has channels so that the water is more evenly distributed throughout the bladder

 That's a great design feature. The pack had plenty room for everything we needed on a day hike.

It's all about the bladder...

 I'd only used run-of-the-mill backpacks before (not designed for hiking/outdoors), and there's just a huge difference in the comfort level. It's a great size for a day hike, carries plenty of water and plenty of room to store a jacket, camera, snacks, and more. Unfortunately the bladder had a tear in it, but the HydraPak warranty is great and they replaced it immediately. Would be better if it had an outer zip pocket for easier access but still secure storage (the only zip pocket is located inside the bag) but alas

Great backpack

I bought this pack as a more technical bag for longer, tougher day hikes and I couldn't be happier. The bag is very lightweight and comfortable and I love how it comes with a hydration bag too. It fits everything I need to be out on the trail without feeling bulky or weighing uncomfortably on my shoulders. I'm a big fan of Osprey products and definitely recommend this bag!
