 it's still gonna stand for like another five minutes or so. Alright, and these are only in for four more minutes and they are very toasty. Um so I got some toasty snowflakes and some toasty ooh very toasty snowman. as I do a whole tray of snowflakes and I still have that much dough left which is a little frustrating but this time for a lot of the massage you can see it's kind of hard to like gauge

 So I think overall the press works pretty well. That's exactly what it says I think the biggest downsides, it's one is like how tiny this little canister is you can look. you have to I couldn't even do a whole tray basically before having to stop and refill it. which isn't necessarily a bad thing because then you have like a chance to like switch the shape that you're doing and since there are a lot of shapes, you can switch pretty often

 I'm not sure yet I haven't decided. Remember the fleur-de-lys for the saints go scenes. Oh yes I'm gonna test out a few of the shapes I think depending upon when I'm in the mood for. My favorite shape usually is the Christmas tree but I don't I don't have any like gloves to mix the dough with the food coloring

 but I'm also actually gonna make the dough in the KitchenAid because usually my mom and I we make the dough by hand so we do everything mix it by hand because my mom does and my mom in the kitchen. they don't really get along very well. I am a baker! It is my passion! This gadget is nothing special at all! I want to love It like all things OXO but it is borderline BAD. Every other cookie press on the site is probably just as “easy” to use and hard to clean. The cookies it produces are minuscule and average looking. The old Mirro twist press was hard to use, to be sure but the cookies were normal sized

 To gain best results choose designs which have a narrow end and release the dough from narrow to wider end of the design. Place your narrowest design élément of the disk perpendicular to the handle and closest to you..

 It would be very time consuming for the outcome achieved. After the testing today, I think cookie cutter cookies are more versatile, easier, less cleanup time, a better size and not so temperamental with regard to baking time. If you really fancy cookie press cookies, invest in a Mirro press and take the time to master that.

 There is very little variety possible with these tiny quarter-half dollar sized cookies. They are simply too small to make decorating them worthwhile. Best Butter Cookie Creator: OXO Good Grips Cookie Press Review

 I have already used it for the first time and it worked great! I've never owned a cookie press before and a family member talked me out of it last holiday because she said they can be tricky and the dough has to be "just right". The kids are going to be doing the annual cut-out cookies tomorrow, but those are loads of work. I just wanted something to make some fast, yummy treats, especially when my family gets into town later in the week. I had ZERO problems

Marcato, out of Italy, makes a cookie press (they call it a biscuit press) that is all metal and costs roughly $70. I'm going to invest in that one.  ———————————  I bought the OXO cookie press based off reviews and because many of their other products are well-made. Purchased Dec. 1, 2019 - I used it that holiday time, one session with 4 times of cookie dough inserted in the tube, and all the cookies came out great. Easy to use and clean

Broken after 2 uses but OXO treats their customers well

I really wanted to love this press. I have been using an old mirro aluminum press for decades that was handed down to me from my grandmother for holiday baking and was looking for something to upgrade that with. While the concept of the press handle sounds ideal, this press has a few setbacks that are making me go back to the old dial- turn aluminum Mirro. For one, the chamber where the cookie dough is loaded is ridiculously small

 I used the whisk attachment, and that seemed to help a great deal.  The only reason that I didn't give this product 5 stars is that I'm a little concerned about the longevity of the ratchet mechanism. Works great now, but I'm just not sure about the quality. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by this cookie press and would recommend it to others, with the caveat that it probably won't last as long as your grandmother's mirro cookie press

dough consistency makes ALL the difference

My kids and I like the variety of shapes, and the press itself was easy enough to figure out. The diameter and length of the tube should be at least 25% bigger, though, because the narrow opening is challenging to fill with dough, the cookies are small, and it had to be refilled often. I also wish there were a rubber gasket or some way to cover the small openings inside the plunger piece. Dough got into these tiny spaces and there is no way to take the plunger piece apart to clean
