 When he goes around treating diseases for one action, he can take off all the cubes. The scientist only needs four cards secure disease. The operations expert can build more of these research stations around the area. Everybody can build them, but they have to use a card

 I'M not they don't really fit in the board too well. This has been fixed by the expansion, but I mean it doesn't really cause too many problems. It just seems odd that they're so giant, but players gon na be moving these pawns around in the board. Basically, a player of stern works like this

On your turn, you have four actions with those actions you can move from space to space following the red lines, moving around the board, if you're in a spot of city, where there is infection, you can use an action to get rid of cubes in that city. For each action you get rid of one cube, you can fly around from city to city as long as you have the appropriate card

 You can only have seven cards in your hand and the card deck once it runs out. You lose the game. Still doesn't sound that difficult, but there's a problem, each turn you're. Turning over a certain number of these cards up here, which show where more cubes will be added to the game, whatever city, it shows

I recently moved and took it as an opportunity to redo all of the shelving in my game room/office - in my old place I had a dedicated game room with a table (RIP) and housed my collection on some decade+ old bookcases from Staples + a KALLAX. I was getting bored of the KALLAX (sorry KALLAX, you're still great) and wanted something different so I painstakingly assembled a crapton of IKEA EKET shelves and I'm really digging the results!

There requires about 45 minutes to complete and as targeted at audiences of 8 years old and upwards today, we'll be reviewing pandemic, and how can you decide should you buy in pandemic players work together as various specialists to fight a global epidemic of four deadly diseases? Players must develop for cures before the disease spreads too far. The players run out of time or the outbreaks become so uncontrollable that worldwide panic ensues with these three unique ways to lose the game. It really feels like your team is battling for deadly and living viruses

 The game is particularly challenging and will force your team to meld your minds and develop creative strategies, utilizing your individual strengths. My brother in law suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy. He is severely physically limited. He can speak and move a couple fingers a total of about a half inch to control his electric wheel chair. 

When I met him, he was mostly into card games (cribbage specifically), but I have gotten him interested in a few other games. We have played carcassonne and ticket to ride both on table top and mobile. For tabletop games, he has a wooden card holder that can hold up to about 15 cards (standard playing size).

I want to get him a new game for Christmas, but the playability has to be high for him. Carcassonne is good because he doesn’t have to keep an inventory of anything. Someone flips a tile for him and he tells them where to place it. Ticket to ride is good because the cards aren’t super detailed with text on them that have to be repeatedly reread to remember what they do. He can just see that he has 4 red, 3 blue, etc. Plus, he doesn’t have the luxury of organizing his cards.

For games when he has a hand of cards in his wooden tray, his opponent typically draws cards for him, and discards for him. He’ll say “third from the left, fourth from the right, middle, etc.”

So, basically, games with limited pieces are good. Games that require the player to keep a lot of detailed cards, tokens, other game pieces hidden from other players would be difficult because the opponent will have to use/discard them for him, creating a weird disadvantage.

Does anyone have any suggestions on games he could maybe try? It’s also worth noting that he lives with only his primary caretaker. So any new game would need to be a good 2-player game. 

Hoping you all can lead me to some great ideas!

Game suggestions for severe physical handicap

Overhyped

 It evolves it mutates and after a couple of sessions of pandemic, you start to develop a real problem, and the problem here is expertise in the fact that if you keep playing pandemic with different groups of people, you will get better at it, whereas the people you Keep playing with well, they won't because they'll be new to the game and that's fine, but it's very difficult to not allow your expertise of the game to influence the way that the games pan out. You start to get an appreciation for the systems in the game, and you know what to do and they don't know what to do and you get into a situation where effectively you have become the leader, so you're trying to introduce people into these games and you're. Trying to be like which players game, it's great fun, it's collaborative, but it stops being collaborative and it starts being you telling everyone what to do. You'Ve got to move here

 Grinning. Writing your orders on a notebook you're, not even on the board. The only time you appear on the board as a bioterrorist is when somebody happens to walk through a city that you're in the rest of the time everything you do is just secret. You break down what you're doing on a piece of paper

 Now this time we've got a bit of a mega opener in the fact that we're looking at pandemic and both of the expansions and the interesting thing here is the expansions aren't like normal expansions. They don't just add extra expansive crazier stuff for kind of expert players to play with they actually change the way that the game works and they change the way the game works in interesting ways. You see you get all the extra stuff as well. You know you get nice new cards, nice new bits, but they're better than that, but before we get into all that what is pandemic well, it's a simple co-op game where you have to work together to try and stop viruses from wiping out humanity, every player and Pandemic gets their own turn, but it's very much a collaborative experience

Also - are you shuffling and randomly distributing the characters at the beginning of the game? This way every game becomes a new challenge on how your given characters can work together to solve the game.

* When playing the Base game with 2 Players and 2 Roles with 4 (then 6) Epidemic Cards, the Medic is OP; as a result, I refuse to use the Medic's Second Ability.  

* We played until we Eradicated of all the Diseases, not until we merely had all Cures. I do not understand why the game only plays until you have all Cures. The Disease is still left on the Board. It was more fun and realistic to play until all four Diseases had been Eradicated (after we won the normal way, we went from 4 to 6 Epidemic Cards). Just using 6 the entire time would have been a bit harder but still easy and sub-1-hour gameplay. Note: In order to achieve this, we removed the 'empty Deck' Rule, and simply reshuffled the entire Deck and started from the top again (as is common in most Card games). This applies to both Decks. If you play with the standard Rules, this is pretty much impossible, since you will run out of Cards and lose the game. (The game we played was still quite easy even for Eradication, so I will see how to make it harder next time.)  

* It was too easy/fast with the Medic under the Rules for the standard Victory Conditions of all Cures. We had all Cures after around 40 minutes. But, playing until all Diseases were Eradicated took 1.5-2 hours, and was more difficult and a bit more fun. Note: It is almost impossible to Eradicate all Diseases without the Medic. Note: I have not yet play-tested this with other setups (such as 1 player, 3 Roles or 2 players, 4 Roles).  

* Cure and Eradication are not the same things, and you cannot Eradicate a Disease until you have first Cured it.   

* You may use the Role Ability Actions as many times as you are able to during your Turn, unless the Card states otherwise (meaning, not just once per Turn unless it states such).  

* We removed the sub-Rule (?): 'Move a Research Station from anywhere on the Board to anywhere else on the Board if you have the Government Fund Event Card, and there are no more Research Stations out of play for you to use'. This occurred once when we had all Research Stations already in play, so we simply rejected the card. (Purely for realism reasons: it makes little sense to be able to move an entire building across the globe, though it's a bit more realistic if the Station is small and mobile. It's also a bit harder this way if you play to Disease Eradication Victory Conditions.)  

* To make this game mode even harder (if you want to play it), you can keep the Epidemic Cards in the game, and rotate them through the Deck, so that all 6 are always in-game, and are never removed. However, in this case, I think a constant 6 is impossible, so try 3 or 4. This is key for end-game, as we found that nothing was really happening, otherwise (other than constantly running after the final Disease Cubes). Note: There are other ways to make this sub-game mode easier or harder, of course. Also, there are other possible mechanisms to put in place, not to mention the addition of Expansions.  


I will report back at a later date with any updates I have (in terms of Rules, mechanics, and additions). For example, I am currently working on a difficult Solo version, along with custom 3D Components for the game.
