 I mean it's extremely well built. The features are really well thought out. There'S a new menu system, that's very modern, very organized, very easy to use. This is easily the most customizable camera i've ever seen

 That'S very important is to show a lot of detail and texture in the surface of the rock, and so i wanted to test this k3 mark iii. Just to see how well the pixel shift does to bring out all that rich texture in the surface of the rock. In my opinion, the way that pentax implements their pixel shift mode is the best in the industry it's much more efficient and convenient than any of the others, because when i click this button in the pixel shift mode, it captures the four images assembles them. As a dng file in the camera, so when i download to the computer, i have one assembled dng file with extra resolution and better color, better detail all right, so this is going to be really really cool, so this is what's called a thin section

 As you move the joystick around, i could pick a starting point and then it automatically tracked the moving subject as he was coming and jumping after the running test. We went and did some portraits of the model with a 55 millimeter f 1.4 lens, which generally is pretty hard to focus, but the autofocus on this camera did a pretty good job of finding the face. The 7 Best Camera Brands - Spring 2022

 I mean we like to test these things, raw plus jpeg, maximum quality everything i was shooting at 11 frames per second, although this camera can push to 12. If you don't need continuous, auto focusing during that burst, but i was getting about 25 shots before it slows down. That'S just you know over a couple seconds of constant burst rate before the camera has to stop, and that's not amazing, i mean the nice thing is if you're doing five or six frame bursts, they're gon na be very quick, you're gon na get, you know very Short segments of time in between and it's great for capturing those decisive moments, but if you need to sustain that or do multiple bursts, you will fill up that buffer, pretty quick and then you're sitting there waiting uh. The other problem here is, although we do have dual card slots both sds here only slot one is uhs, two speed

 Two thousand dollars - i mean not the most expensive camera on the market, but still a hefty price to pay and keep in mind it's actually more money than pentax's own k1 mark ii, which is an excellent full-frame platform.  Now i like that, we have both. Of these i mean a lot of modern cameras are giving you one or the other, and then we also have a touch screen and you can use the touchscreen to change autofocusing points as well as manipulate the menu you can use the joypad for your menu. Oddly, though i found a function to, let me use the autofocus joystick for the menu and that's too bad, because i like to just be able to instinctually reach to either one and adjust those settings. Often that's throwing me off or i'm clicking this nothing's happening, i'm like oh yeah, joypad that'll just take some practice in getting used to the only complaint

Pentax K-3 Mark III Review

 It's even slightly better than the K70 (although not by much), which used to hold that crown in tandem with the KP. In comparison to the D500, it's definitely got an obvious edge in overall fine detail, and even high ISO in raw (although not by much). Together with the myriads of other refinements in responsiveness, menus, and overall handling and ergonomics, the K3 Mk III is truly the most impressive camera I've used or own from them so far. I wasn't a fan of the KP, and I wanted more from my K3's (I own both the I and the II as well)

 The LCD overlay with all of the AF points leave a remarkable impression. Yep Ricoh made a big deal about it (perhaps they embellished), yet the improvements are real.  Just as the K1 was a huge hit, I think the K3 Mk III will be known as the APS-C DSLR that Pentax users have really been waiting for. The K1 duo are impressive, but the K3 Mk III takes everything to an even higher level

 To have only one maker continuing to make DSLR's would be a pity for the rest, but great for Ricoh. All they need to do now is pump up the lens options. Sigma should get on board and make more of their lenses available in the Pentax mount. I've a few of their new generation lenses and they are all impressive (the 100-400mm DG f/5-6

  It's viewfinder is super bright and clear. Yes it's large for APS-C. Yet, forget the 1.05x magnification specification for a moment, the true highlight is how bright and clear and informative (modern) it is

Pentax K-3 MkIII Review

 Even Sigma has stopped making lenses for K mount. I actually have the 30mmf1.4 from Sigma and it is a great lens. At least for the K-01 as slow as the autofocus is, I got it for a steal back then and as long as your subjects don't move it is fantastic

 Here are the issues I had with this Camera. The camera is a big DSLR. I don't have too much of an issue there. However, the autofocus is so mediocre that in spite of them improving it, it is light years behind Canon dual and Sony and the camera is 2000 dollars

 I have jumped into the canon RF mount with an R6. I got a refurbushed one for a little over 2K. Would you compare this one with K3 ? No contest. Their lens are not cheap but they are another level in performance partially due to the design of the RF mount itself and also being a mirrorless system

4 from Sigma and it is a great lens. At least for the K-01 as slow as the autofocus is, I got it for a steal back then and as long as your subjects don't move it is fantastic. But for 2K, you got to be kidding me. Their management has no vision

Pentax has finally lost it

 The auto-focus is excellent. As expected, it's a super solid build. It's not silent like a mirrorless, but I think this is the first DSLR where the sound of the shutter was soft enough where birds aren't startled right at go. The menu takes a little getting use to as it's changed quite a bit, but there's nothing I haven't searched for that I didn't find with occasional use of the provided manual

 I love it. Also with the few tests I've done they've really hugely improved upon immediate transfer of images (even RAW) to a smartphone. The auto-focus is excellent. As expected, it's a super solid build

  Is it worth the price tag? For me it was. I have a bunch of Pentax lenses already and I wasn't going to wait six months for the price to maybe come down to try this out. Now that I have it I won't be returning it. :)

Only at low ISO where the larger full frame pixels have lower S/N does the K-1 mkii still win the day If I was doing landscape I would still use my K-1. The Pentax K3mkiii is once again the best APS-C body out there at its price point. Worth every penny

 I own every Pentax digital body since the the ist-D and I was a big fan of the aps-c KP which at the time I called best in class. the K3mkiii absolutely eclipses the Pentax KP for APS-C. I also will boldly say that for any action or mid iso performance the K3mkiii eclipses the K-1mkii for the combination of focus speed tracking and overall image ability. A note on autofocus, For SDM lenses it is superb best speed and tracking ever

So much power in such a compact package.  Beats the K-1mkii in all areas except landscape work

 The auto focus is much improved over past models, which is nice. The camera is very customizable allowing you to make the camera work how you need it. Of course, the camera is very well built (it is a Pentax) and feels great in my hands.

So happy Pentax stuck with DSLR and OVF
