Pilot V7

Everything was just very compact. For a modern V7, the advantages for the consumer is the classic timeless design, simple maintenance, as far as I know it is the last real air cooled engine with two valves per cylinder so they are mechanically still extremely simple (no idea how they manage to get past emission regulations), yet they still make decent amount of power (the V85TT gets almost 100hp/litre, though to be fair the older V7I, V7II and V7III were quite underpowered).

It is a great choice. That pen is one of the often overlooked pens that are really great pens. \\. FYI that pen will take other refills, especially the pilot v5/v7 refills without modification.

I have a Tactile Turn Side Click, and I have problems with the Pilot Precise RT refills: **they get stuck during extension**. It's something to do with the way the pen extends the refill through the tip forces the side of the refill to impact the inside wall of the pen body. The Precise RT refills have a larger diameter plastic section near the tip that a standard G-2 refill does not have and it catches on the tip hole. This is a complete bummer for me as the Pilot Precise V7 RT is one of my favorite refills.

I tried the Parker Gel, Schmidt EasyFlow, and the Monteverde Gel, but they were all too inconsistent and weren’t very smooth. I’ve been a big fan of the Pilot Precise V5 and V7 for a long time as the V5 was the first pen I used that I really liked, so I decided to see if it could be used in the Jotter. After a bit of trimming, I got it to work good, and other than the clicking not being as smooth as the actual Parker refills, it is a much better writer now.
