 You You You So this is our review of the pioneer 8500 and EX this system actually comes with navigation built in so you can actually go right here Go the main menu go your navigation. It is actually built in versus using Android Auto Apple CarPlay as Navigation built in it is a little slow little sluggish like most navigations are but in all it's pretty good volume buttons are down here It works really nice your main menu basically to get to all your You know selectable features that you're looking for is all down here Which is really nice as well so you can go to your radio right here And that'll basically go to your HD radio different presets you have over on this side This unit actually has a DVD player, which is behind you just click over here And it actually has a DVD CD player in the back side, which is really nice most of the units Don't have that anymore. It's good. Why this customer actually went with this radio was because of that reason So you have a DVD and CD slot there, which is really nice as well This unit actually has USB 1 and USB 2 which is down here Also has aux in also also has Bluetooth, so if you go through your selectable sources over here you have Pandora Bluetooth Mirroring aux HD radio you have all those options with USB 1 and USB 2 So this unit actually has a lot of features It is a very expensive unit, but in all it's a pretty good unit from what we've been using it for and in this particular Vehicle we have had really good success the main thing is it does do maestro So you can in this particular car you can run the gauges through here You can also run the info system, and it will tell your tire pressure and TPMS Everything like that, so it is a really good unit for all the features it has it Just pretty costly for the price, but in all it does a lot of cool stuff So you can change everything over here to the gauges as well, but it's a very nice unit for the price It's just a little bit more price point higher than most normal head units But that's mainly because it has the navigation built in and every feature possible that you could actually want in a head unit so In our review this is a really good head unit for the price, and I would definitely recommend it to anybody That's looking for something that has built-in nav you know two USBs aux in Bluetooth actually has a DVD and CD player So this unit basically has all the features you could possibly look for if you're looking for something that comes with every feature imaginable from a head unit present day, thank you You

 Next up, we have the USB extension. Now the USB extension here, the USB ports on the in-dash receiver are on the back so we include a USB extension in the box to bring that USB port up into the passenger compartment of your vehicle.  The back panel of the AVIC-W8500NX has the GPS antenna input right here. The GPS antenna is used for the system's internal navigation system as well as Android Auto wireless and Apple CarPlay wireless. AVIC-W8500NEX - What's in the Box?

Nice unit in many respects but unreliable quality.

This is a great head unit, probably the best on the market as of now (summer 2020). Having Android Auto / CarPlay be wireless is a huge plus, it has a ton of inputs and outputs, and works really well in general. Great unit for the price.  That said

 That goes for some other features as well, such as the audio options. The FM radio functionality compared to Spotify is just much more primitive. I'm not trying to compare the two apps. My point is about the user interface

 The 8500NEX sounded okay before, but sounds a bazillion times better after running through the auto-EQ setup. Honestly the 8500NEX as a flagship model should just come with an auto-EQ mic for the price.  Auto-EQ mic: Pioneer CD-MC20 Auto-EQ Microphone for Car DVD Receivers  Other parts needed to integrate the 8500NEX with my 07 Tundra w/JBL: Maestro ADS-MRR Universal Radio Replacement and Steering Wheel Interface Maestro HRN-RR-TO1 Plug and Play T-Harness for TO1 Toyota Vehicles Metra 99-8220 Single/Double DIN Installation Kit for 2007-2009 Toyota Tundra/Sequoia, Standard Black

 That is my baseline for comparison so needless to say I am extremely happy with technology from this decade. I was able to keep using the existing JBL amp, backup camera, and steering wheel controls since I purchased (separately) a Maestro unit and one of their adapter kits. Those two items from Maestro greatly simplified the still somewhat complex setup of this receiver. They essentially are go betweens for the receiver and all the various factory connectors left behind when the factory receiver was disconnected

Fits my 2007 Tundra with JBL

 I did my research on this company and they are not only legit but listed as an authorized dealer for a ton of high end sound gear for like Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc. My radio came flawless and brand new.  I will update as I use this product.
