The strap on the OH1 didn't have this Velcro closure, so you actually had to slip it on over your wrist and then move it up your arm. So, there's three ways that you can use the Verity Sense. You can use it just like any other heart rate monitor, pairing it to a compatible device

 And what we can see is that for most of the session, the Verity did a pretty decent job. At the beginning where I was doing bench press, it was pretty close to the other sensors, except for the last set. On these lat pull downs, it was pretty much spot on, and then it was a little bit slow to react with these tricep extensions right here. I've had the Polar about a year and a half. My Fenix 5 is even worse for heart rate so I'm turning to the experts. Any suggestions?

What heart rate monitor do you all use?

I bought this little unit for it's convenience and style, but MAINLY for motivating me to get my heart rate up there. Knowing that I am in the 'range' of 110-130 bpm is very motivating and gives me huge incentive. So, what's wrong? Mainly the wrist band is prone to wearing loose. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't but for something like this, I don't want it falling off my wrist onto the road (cycling) or getting lost in the pool (it's water-resistant but it DOESN'T FLOAT!) Also, it totally loses its effectiveness if it's loose fitting

 (Glad to see it knows the difference between skiing and water skiing though! lol) No, it's seriously comprehensive, BUT when performing multiple workouts, it claims to include a 'pause' function (for circuit training presumably) but I could NOT get this to work properly. Sure it would pause, but then not come on again!! Der!!! What **** use it THAT???? Maybe the loose strap was having it's effect, I don't know. So, although this appears to be a great little unit, so far I have had more than my frustrations with it and of course, nowhere near the motivation I had planned on. I'm going to persevere however as it's design is very good

Got a Oura 3 and paired it with a Polar Verity Sense heart rate band when doing sports. Great combo. Plus use HRV4training app and Athlytic app for Whoop like stats.

Tons of complaints in this sub, but let me hear from people who love their Oura 3.0. Convert coming from Whoop 4.0 checking in.

 I previously used a Scosche Rhythm 24, which allowed for constant monitoring but broke after less than a year of use. (very light use, by the way.)  I normally pair the HR sensor with my Apple Watch directly. This will allow the Apple watch to make use of the HR sensor and thus preserves a little battery on the watch itself

 I decided to return the unit. It works great for active heart rate tracking. It didn't work for passive heart rate monitoring. I am going to order another Scosche as it seems to remain paired and in use as I want

Seems to work, but not what I wanted.

 I will start off by comparing the polar verity sense against the Polar H10 ECG chest strap. I use an ECG chest strap as a reference, since this is generally considered the most reliable way of getting heart rate measurements. To make sure that the results were consistent, I wore two Polar H10 ECG chest straps at the same time. Following this comparison, I will compare the results of the verity sense against those of the Polar OH1+, that I wore at the same time

 We can draw the same conclusion if we compare both of them against the ECG chest strap. On the left are the results we saw before for the Verity Sense and on the right we have the results for the Polar OH1 Plus. Basically to me these look identical. So that would indicate that the performance of the Polar OH1 is similar to the performance of the Verity Sense

 The strap is actually the thing that boosts the Bluetooth signal of the verity sense, so without it you get less range. Also, you can now connect up to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. Finally, the optical sensor of the verity sense is still the exact same as the one in the OH1+. Now, enough background, let's get to the tests

 As always, I do not want to waste your time, so timestamps are in the description below and also on the timeline. The polar verity sense is basically a beefed up version of the Polar OH1+, which I looked at a few weeks ago. Now before I start the actual test, I want to share with you the main differences between the two. As Polar states on their website, the verity sense takes the battery life from 12 hours on the OH1+, to 20 hours now on the verity sense

I use a Charge 4 and a Polar Verity Sense (just during workouts). I like it as a combo as I find the Polar is 99% of the time, spot on, and close to chest strap accuracy, but easier to use, IMO. Personally, I don't give most of the fitbit sleep stats much weight.

Mainly asking if anyone has experience with this kind of set up. I'm a competitive runner and use my Garmin Forerunner to track distance, pace, and workouts. I'm thinking of getting a Charge 5 to wear 24/7 as wearing my forerunner all the time, especially to sleep, isnt the most comfortable. Then I'd keep the Charge 5 on one wrist and use my Forerunner on the other wrist to track my intervals and runs.

Wondering if any one has insight on using the Charge 5 for mainly tracking sleep and recovery. Basically I want to replicate how a Whoop tracks without needing to pay for a Whoop subscription!

Any runners use a Forerunner and Charge 5 together?

 No - show me you do what I paid for first.  It doesn't look like it is set up to tell you your heart rate unless you are recording a workout, which is lame. I was really hoping for something like a Fitbit but that doesn't go on my wrist bc I just don't like to wear things there.  Overall frustrated and probably going to return it

The app is able to find the device, but keeps losing connection or something bc I keep having to reconnect (but does tell me battery is at 100% so I did charge it sufficiently).  I haven't been able to get it to read my heart rate at all yet, but they want allll your info and to connect all your apps. No - show me you do what I paid for first.  It doesn't look like it is set up to tell you your heart rate unless you are recording a workout, which is lame

Edit: So the Polar support website lists a ton of phone-device incompatiblies. Strangely, this product can't even be found on their list of products - unless it's one of the "VX00" models but there is no indication on the packaging that it should be called anything but "Verity"

Not easy to use

 These are two devices that if I'm in the gym lifting weights I'm definitely going to opt for one of these devices rather than the Polar Vantage V2 or the Polar H10 heart rate sensor. In my opinion if you're going to use a Polar heart rate sensor where there's the danger of your devices being damaged or destroyed this is the ideal thing because it's out of the way, it's convenient, it just fits on your arm and you don't have to worry about it too much. It's not obstructing your breathing so for those really high intensity activities it's what I've been using. You can see all of it on the screen

 As you guys know if I'm not running most of the time the activities that I'm using the heart rate trackers for are going to be like fighting so boxing, MMA, wrestling things like that and when you're doing that you don't want to be wearing a watch where you're harming the person that you're training with so I would link the H10 chest strap to my watch but the problem with the chest strap is that it can be quite restricting and if I'm being honest getting punched in the chest with the chest strap on is not the nicest thing in the world and that's why the Verity Sense is so much more convenient for me. So if you actually have people who are in those high intensity activities I really don't know why you wouldn't go for the Polar Verity Sense. It's targeted at swimmers but it's built for a high intensity. In my opinion I think Polar should market this along with their Polar Grit X

 It's not obstructing your breathing so for those really high intensity activities it's what I've been using. You can see all of it on the screen. The results that I have on the screen proves that the more you use the Polar Verity Sense the more accurate it gets when it comes to recording your heart rate. So don't buy a device use it for a week and then say it doesn't work
