 I can definitely say it is much better than the cushioning the chair came with. However, after several weeks of use, I can say it really is not that much more of an improvement over just a normal style well built cushion made of foam or latex.  The design of this makes it breathe really well, but this design also causes some issues after a long period of use. There is a pretty good sweet spot where you have to have the cushion just right for it to support you correctly without creating pressure points

Purple comes up quite often when you look at ways to support the body, from bedding to cushions, you can usually see them come up when you are looking for relief. Looking for options, this Purple cushion came up quite a bit and the marketing materials checked all my use boxes.  So did the cushion help, well, yes it did

Eh, Not As Revolutionary As I Was Led to Believe

 Just a look at the back side you guys can do the famous egg test. I'm not going to do that because I don't really care as long as it's comfortable for me I don't care about the damn egg test. Alright let's open this baby up and I'm struggling so give me about 10 minutes and I'll get back to you guys when I can figure out how to open this box. Alright I guess I just need to use some muscle strength and it opens just like this

 I know it's about two inches thick but that helps at least a little and it's way more comfortable than this hard rock solid seat. It's very uncomfortable but it does look cool I must say so myself. Alright, let's get right into this review. And as you can see guys it's right here right out of the box in this original retail packaging

 This is what the case is like it may not have a nice fabric. The back side as you guys can see is nice and it's got like a texture on the back that'll help keep the seat cushion from sliding. It's also got handles for you to carry the seat cushion around which is pretty nice. Alright people I took it out of the box put it inside of the sleeve I put it on top of the chair and I tried out both the softer and firmer side I think both of them are very comfortable

 If you do decide to buy this seat cushion and you don't like it for whatever reason the first couple hours you try it out I do recommend using it for at least a couple days before you decide to return it because it may get much more comfortable for you in a couple of days as you get used to the seat cushion and both sides of the seat cushion. Definitely don't buy this thing if you're expecting to be sitting on a cloud. This is a seat cushion it definitely provides extra comfort but it's not meant to be extremely comfortable. Basically what this seat cushion is going to help you do is work play video games or do whatever you do for extended periods of time without feeling too much pressure or pain

So given this actually resolved pain I was experiencing, it is worth the price so I can work in my racer chair for 8+ hours a day

  I've been using it for 2 weeks, some days 8+ hours straight sitting on it. While I wouldn't say it made my chair the most comfortable chair, it did make it comfortable enough for me. I don't have any heat problems. I think it does get warm but it's no warmer than usual if you sat in a chair for a long time

Best solution so far to increase comfort for gaming racer chair during WFH...

 In home dec sewing some cushions are first wrapped in polyester first to add support for the cushioning material and, imho, that would not be a bad thing.  Other than that I DO find it to be a comfortable, helpful, cushion. I am older, and relatively petite and perhaps the Purple Royal or Double would have been a better choice for me. For larger people this would be great

 I have tried it on a variety of chairs and it it slips on them all. I feel that the fabric used for the cover should be: a) more substantial (while it is a nice, stretchy, knit it is a bit thin) and b) have a much beefier, much more ‘non slip’ fabric on the bottom of the cover. I may make a new cover for I myself. I also think that a sturdier cover would increase the comfort factor since it would minimize the feeling of the gridded purple material

 For me, after two spinal surgeries, I was hoping to mitigate the chronic pain I have, and hoped to add some comfort to the chair I use for sewing. From my point of view here re the pros and cons as I “feel” ‘em:  The Pros: 1. I do think that the gridded construction of the material does help disperse heat. My sewing area is in a loft with a very low ceiling and in the summer it gets SO hot! I have been able to spend a bit more time up there this summer because my derriere feels a bit more comfortable with this cushion

  For those looking at this cushion specifically for the Steelcase Leap, there are still some comfort concerns with the Purple Double. The provides handles on the sheeting won't stretch to wrap around arm supports. It also has a tendency to slip forward progressively throughout the day. Both of these lead me to zip tie the provided cushion seat handles to the chair, and opting to drap a thin blanket over the seat to sit on

  For the most part, in the past couple of weeks, I've occasionally alternated between the two sides of the cushion, just to see which would offer me the best relief for the longest moments of sitting. Overall, and this is just a personal preference, I find the smaller square sise to be more favorable. It's more supporting, less noticeable, and doesn't have as much of a sink-in effect. The largest porous side does conform to my behind more and provides a softer feel, especially on the edges of the cushion, but the largest spacing between the ridges of the squares are just too noticeable for my preference

Great for pain relief, Especially for something like the Steelcase Leap

 1: its soft and comfortable. My legs have not hurt from excessive chair contact since getting it. 2: plopping down onto the seat is a revelation. I literally bounce on this thing

So I got this for the office as they seem to expect us work on site folks to match the hours of work from home people, which means live there. Suffice it to say my backside was sore each day, my legs ached and I wasn't happy. Read a few reviews and settled on this over the double version. Its certainly comfortable, though for the first two weeks after getting it my back started hurting
