/\s/ I have the Soya configuration which is this/\s/beige case and a translucent back piece./\s/ The idea of an accent piece is cool, but/\s/I’m Not sure this is the best combo. The bezels are extra tall, coming up/\s/past halfway for Cherry profile keycaps./\s/ I Love the way it looks, but if you type/\s/with your wrists resting on the table,/\s/ your fingers might actually hit the case,/\s/particularly on thumb keys like spacebar/\s/ or alt

 If You’ve seen my M60-A video, you’ll know that/\s/I absolutely adore the way that thing looks,/\s/ And because this is just a plastic/\s/version of that, I Love this too. Of Course, it’s not a one-to-one copy/\s/due to limitations of the material/\s/ probably, but it’s close enough. I Love the thin side and front bezels paired with/\s/the large forehead. Ramaworks Kara Review: Total Ripoff

1. RAMA Works fit and finish are definitely top notch, even when it comes to their 'cheaper' variant.

The Kara is a relatively easy keyboard to assemble even if you are new to custom keyboard. The assembly guide is akin to Ikea's straightforward approach; why waste time say lot word when few word do trick.

In terms of finishing, the Kara is a tad better than NK65 EE with its incorporation of metal screw posts (thank god for this) and overall QC; no apparent scuffs or marks from its injection moulding technique.

The typing feel on the Kara is a lot softer than I'd imagine due to the combination of MUTE mount and PC plate, and translates to a more muted sound signature than your typical top mount keyboard. I'd say that Tactiles/Clickies might be the perfect combination for this board with regard to sound.

Typing on a HHKB layout takes getting used to. The lower backspace and 1U left control messes with my typing position more often than I would care to admit.But overall it's been a fun experiment typing on different board layouts. Is it worth the $160 asking price? Heck yes!

FIrst RAMA - KARA in SOYA

 So 45 bucks seems like a larger chunk of money relative to the board. And Don’t forget, you will require stabs, switches, and keycaps to finish it off. So It’s still a premium sort of product. I Definitely feel that the board keeps the RAMA quality and feel

 The RAMA WORKS branding is actually visible on the bottom, unlike the Soya one. And Another thing of note is that all the standoffs and screw holes are metal inserts, instead of just tapped plastic, so they should be pretty durable. Here’s the 1.5mm polycarbonate plate, which is the default plate

. Here’s the KARA PCB, designed by the ever dependable Wilba. And There is just the one version, with Kailh hotswap sockets in the HHKB layout. So No other layouts available, and no solderable version

. I Think out of the recent injection moulded customs, this one first of all, looks fantastic, but the feel is quite good. I Felt that the NK65 is nice, but not too far off typical prebuilts that you can buy. The Mute Mounting system is interesting here,, especially the way that they’ve had to do it with this board, I Haven’t seen anything really like it before

RAMA WORKS KARA Custom Mechanical Keyboard

The Rama Kara is gorgeous. I bought it specifically for these keycaps (MT3 extended 2048) and for the fact that off white goes with a lot of my caps so well. Clear Durock stabs and novelkey creams complete the look.

Holy shit. Less than 3 weeks ago, I was happy with my Ducky One 2 SF which was gifted to me by my brother. All I wanted were Pudding keycaps as well.

I think I'll be following the same trajectory as you at this point...

I had a Razer Ornata then I wanted a mechanical keyboard so looked into ducky I order it but it was taking too long to arrive so cancelled so then I got a Drop alt barebones then the halo clears then the HyperX pudding keycaps, then a key switch tester, then a mechanical key switch keychain, then a glorious compact wrist wrest then some more switches (NovelKeys Silk yellows) then a drop alt keyboard carry case in total this is $336 the keyboard I was originally getting was the ducky mecha mini only $133 what is this???....... and I’m playing on getting 1 artisan lol extra $30

I have a Cooler Master MasterKeys S with nasty stock stabilizers and Cherry MX Browns. I'm waiting for my U80-A SEQ 2 and already picked up some Kiwi switches.  


If I had a Kara, I would use the U80-A for work and the Kara for gaming with a linear switch!

I’m using the Dell keyboard that came with my work computer :( As much as I would love to type on a beautiful Kara everyday, I would much rather my best friend get this keyboard. I’m Zz, I’ve been in the hobby for about 2 years now, I’ve learned a lot of valuable things and made a lot of friends in the community. But since I’m leaving for college, I’ll probably be less and less involved in the community. But I wanted to thank this wonderful community for all the things it has taught me and the valuable skills (both social and technical), as well as the dark times in my life which the hobby helped me through.
