So anyways, that kind of wraps up my thoughts on the Remarkable 2. it is certainly a device that is expensive.

But the ReMarkable 2's limited format support and struggles with complex documents prevent us from fully recommending it.

Looking to upgrade, I purchased the Remarkable 2. I'd hoped that I'd also use it for note-taking but within a day I've realised that I much prefer paper and pen for notes and I am really struggling to read on the Remarkable. It's difficult to scroll through entire documents at any speed, the Zoom is too fiddly for my usual workflow and, although I did think I would be fine without a backlight, I've found that if the lighting is gloomy then it's hard to read at all. I'm going to return the Remarkable 2 but what should I replace it with?.

It was pricey but omg, so awesome: The reMarkable 2. It’s got a huge screen, you can write on it, usb c (I am so sick of proprietary wires!) and can email documents to your phone.

My wife upgraded to Remarkable 2 after using the 1st gen for a while. Its hardware is beautiful, sleek. As a note taking device it's unbeatable, at least in German market right now.
