I’m looking at interfaces like the Apollo x16 or 8p, antelope Orion 32+ etc.  My budget is between 2k-5k. I would hate to buy something along these lines and have a newer updated interface drop shortly after.

New 8, 16 or 32 channel interfaces?

 They had me do the same simple things over and over to the point of frustration. I also had occasional sound dropouts and stutters. I finally sent the unit back and am purchasing an Apogee Ensemble. It's too bad, because the sound quality of the UFX is wonderful and the software/hardware deep and rich

Great sounding AD converter - crystal clear and good mixing ...

  Value = 10 I've tracked with almost every other studio-quality interface in this price range and none of them offer better sound or better usability.  Summary: Now that every serious DAW software can work with any interface the competition is on a level ground, and RME is the current leader of the pack.

That's right folks, I do not, in fact, want to continuously deal with audio driver/system crashes. My old MAudio Fast Track Pro  doesn't play nice with Windows 10 or USB 3, and in the best of scenarios only sometimes completely cuts out and requires a powercycle. I just tried the Behringer UMC202HD, which initially presented an odd issue for me in that windows volume control was ineffective at best (0%-30% volume increase from 00 to 02 for Windows volume, then little change after); and while I searched for remedy to that issue it decided to fully crash, which I found out is a new and well documented 'feature' introduced by the latest Windows 10 updates.  While I understand that Behringer may well patch this eventually; I'm not really looking to have the same exact issue I have with my old kit from a brand new device. So- Any recommendations for a solid USB interface with 2 1/4" outs for my monitors and good stability/Windows volume control that works? Thanks!!

Looking for a USB interface suggestion that WON'T crash Windows 10

 Just really horrible. That's the single thing that's bad about this interface. Just cover that LED and it's perfect.

  Best low latency performance, pristine sound quality including fantastic headphone output quality with high power (and 2 of them), everything works exactly as it should, the drivers and software are by far the best, build quality is great, EVERYTHING IS GREAT, EXCEPT one thing. The one complaint I have about the UFX is that it has a terrible, very bright blue USB connection indicator LED. Just really horrible. That's the single thing that's bad about this interface
