 You can go ahead, unplug the lavalier and just hook them on. That's something I was doing at the aquarium because Dylan and I were mic'd up, but I wanted to get a few audio bites from Carrie. So I went ahead and unplugged this through this on her bag and was able to capture audio and switch it back and forth between different people very fast. The only things I can see going wrong is if the wedding is an all day thing, you want to make sure that you're plugging these in between breaks

 And also when everybody gets drunk and the DJ's blasting the music, you may run into issues with clipping with all the loud sounds going on. Donald says those wireless go sound a lot better with the lavalier go mic. Yeah, I would agree with that. That's what you're listening to right now is the transmitter hooked up to the road go lob

Rode Wireless Go II Review | Incredible Wireless Mic/Lavalier! ...But not quite Perfect

 Yes, it technically works, but it's a little heavy for a shirt and no one wants that thing in the picture.  IMO, this system doesn't work without having the mic as well. And for ~$300 you could get a full system that takes batteries and comes with a wired mic. I think it's a little disingenuous to call this a lavalier without the actual wired lavalier mic

Beware: doesn't come with a lavalier mic. But, easy to use.

 So that might be the problem. Maybe I'm just misusing it, but I thought I'd at least try it. The Sennheiser did much better with different microphones plugged into it. But overall, I mean, I just got to come out and say it

5 millimeter non-locking input for plugging in other microphones. The power button on the transmitter can also be used as a relinking or pairing button if you're going to be mixing and matching different sets of these, although they come out of the box pre-paired, which is pretty handy. On the transmitter, there's also a little belt clip or shirt clip in this case, since it has a microphone. So you could clip it to a piece of clothing and just use this little unit as your entire transmitter and microphone without using an external microphone

 But for $200, you're just not going to beat this little system. And by little, I mean, come on guys, this is absolutely ridiculous how small both of these transmitter and receiver are. I also did a signal torture test with the Rode and with the Sennheiser doing the exact same pattern through the studio. And both seem to do just fine with exception to the Sennheiser having one spot where I got kind of that sound

Best Wireless Mic Under $200? Rode Wireless GO Review

<div class="md">Back story: daughter getting married at her rural home (outdoor wedding in the &quot;forrest&quot;); she had a pro photographer but asked if I could video the actual ceremony, since that wasn&#39;t part of the wedding shooter&#39;s deal. But I also was part of the wedding and didn&#39;t want to watch this behind a camera. 

I set up my two cameras (R5 and R6) with appropriate glass on tripods and pointed them at the sort of arch made of a couple of intertwined saplings draped with fir branches where the ceremony would take place. The best angle was behind all the chairs for guests (about 30 or so), and so I thought too far to catch decent audio. I had a side angle with a Rode videomic on the other camera. 

I really wanted clean sound of the bride, groom, and officiant, but I knew I couldn&#39;t put a mic there (too many reasons to go into) and I had two <a href="https://store.dji.com/product/dji-mic?vid=109401">DJI wireless mics</a> but I also knew there was zero chance they would get worn.

On the off chance that it would work, I clipped the two wireless mics into the fir branches in the arch, hiding them and point them down and in to try to catch two people facing each other in front of the arch. I set them to their &quot;field recorder&quot; mode and turned them on. 

Ceremony went fine; the Rode videomic caught decent audio although with some background but wedding vows were too softly spoken to be heard. At first I thought my wireless trick had failed as I couldn&#39;t hear anything but boosting 20 - 30 dba and I get perfect sound, virtually no background. Best of all, my daughter&#39;s vows she wrote to her husband which only he could hear I think because she was so so quiet when reading them is audible. This is for her so I think she&#39;ll be super happy to have them as a memory. 

Posting because you super-experienced pros would have thought of this instantly but maybe this will help someone who--like me--would be puzzled to get good sound.

 And here are a few things I didn't care for on the wireless Go 2. Overall, the onboard recording feature, while impressive, shouldn't be trusted as your main audio source. Accessing the recordings can be somewhat flaky at times. And one of my transmitters still won't connect and I keep having storage issues on my computer

 And on top of that, I was having a lot of app crashes when I first got my wireless Go in. That said, Rode has released a update to the app, which allowed me to export files, but I still can't access one of my transmitters. So definitely make sure you connect it, update it, make sure it's all working to see if you have a dud or not. Unfortunately, to access these files, you really have to use the Rode Central app
