 But just a very versatile all-mountain ski. Pretty lightweight. It's actually now in Rossignol's free touring collection in the Black Ops line. So kind of a nod to the idea that you could use it as an alpine touring ski

 Here on the East Coast, it's a blast to take into the trees. You know, there's enough tail rocker back there that you don't feel locked into a turn. And with the lighter swing weight, they're pretty easy to maneuver and kind of flick around in the bumps and trees. Of course, being in the free touring line, Rossignol is kind of making a suggestion that you could put an Alpine touring binding on them

 It's much shorter of the actual ski. Back in the day, or just a couple years ago, that AirTip and things like the Sky7 and the Soul7 was almost like the full tip. So I mentioned Damp Tech. Damp Tech is basically using a sheet of rubber up here in the tip of the ski

 So what that means is you're getting a longer effective edge in pretty much every situation. In terms of rocker camber profile, these skis actually get quite a bit of camber underfoot, pretty snappy, energetic camber too. But then you get a good amount of tip and tail rocker. Tip rocker is a little longer than tail rocker, starts about right here where my hand is

Hi, I'm looking to replace two of my aging pairs.

For about seven years now I've been using older Atomic Crimson 78s and Atomic Access 100s. They just worked, so I never bothered to change. I am completely new to the world of buying skis, but would call myself advanced/expert level and have skied for 25 years now. I'm 6' and 175 lbs. 

I'm looking for a one ski quiver (for now) until I pick up a pair of wider touring skis with Shifts next year. This has led me down looking for something in the 90-100mm underfoot range.

I ski 20 times a year at Whistler. These skis would be used for resort - specifically, 50% for groomers, 20% deeper stuff, 20% bowls, and 10% in the trees. I'm after something directional - I'm never switch. What I have now seems to have been worn out a few seasons ago.

This has led me down the path of:

\- Atomic Maverick 95 ti - for the reason of it being Atomic, something I know well and seemingly the "definition of do everything well" ski

\- Nordica Enforcer 94 - 

\- Salomon QST 96 - I see this as being in between the enforcer and Maverick

So my question is: am I on the right track here - and do I have my hunches right? Anyone have thoughts, or does any ski come to your mind that seems like a good fit for someone like me?

New All Mountain Skis

 It's going to be a really solid ski. Air tip in the shovel keeps it super lightweight, makes it really easy to engage that ski into the turn, so you're not working real hard on this. It's a ski that the biggest, strongest skier can overpower, but that's not really who I'd aim or put on this ski. It's that solid intermediate up through advanced level skier that wants something that's going to keep their legs fresh for the entire day, not tire them out too much, but still be able to rip on

 I'd be totally comfortable putting an intermediate level skier on here, all the way up through a really solid advanced skier. At 94 underfoot, it's a super versatile width, so it's going to handle the hard pack real well, but with the more progressive shovel and the early taper and the tip here, it's still really well suited to get off trail, dabble in the trees, dabble in the bumps, the crud, even kind of boot deep powder. It's going to be a really solid ski. Air tip in the shovel keeps it super lightweight, makes it really easy to engage that ski into the turn, so you're not working real hard on this

 Hi, I'm Thom. I just got done skiing the brand new Rossignol Black Ops Escaper, and this is a phenomenal ski. It's the closest thing to replacing the old Sky 7, but just such a better ski here. The thing about this ski is it's got an enormous sweet spot

The Rossignol BlackOps Escaper is a great option for any advanced all mountain guy who wants a fun, playful ski. Diago Fiber laid across the Paulownia Woodcore helps stiffen the ski, while the Paulownia keeps things light weight and playful. Damp Tech makes an appearance for core reinforcement and liveliness for an energetic ride when you lay that ski on edge. The Escaper is torsionally stiff thanks to the full sandwich sidewall for edge hold and stability when you find yourself on the groomers.  Sorry, I'm not sure which but in that category of kind of a light, playful all-mountain ski 94, so a little narrower than some of these other boards we've been riding. You know with Rossignol, I expect expect a really refined and well-balanced ski. That's exactly what you get here with the Escaper. Let's take a quick look at it

 Not like that. More playful, but still quite nice and snappy off its edges and just so clean and refined edge-to-edge. The ski likes it when you use hip angulation, it likes it when you use knee angulation. Not very stiff overall, so maybe heavier riders beware on this ski, but I'm going to say one of the big pluses of a ski like this is this is going to suit a huge range of skier types and ability levels

 Alright, we've got something new. It's Rossignol's Black Ops Escaper. This is 94 millimeters underfoot. I'm riding a 178 and I believe they said this replaces the Sky 7

 That's exactly what you get here with the Escaper. Let's take a quick look at it. There you go right there. And notice those tips, okay? Notice again, as with many of the other makers, we're moving away from the more spoonie progressive tips back toward more traditional geometry

 It's just a slightly narrower, slightly lighter version of the Sender, which is the wider version of this ski. So, a little bit more all-mountain oriented, nice and versatile, carves a great turn. Still got the vertical sidewalls in there and some pretty positive camber underfoot and some pretty good snap coming out of the turn. So, really nice, kind of tight camber profile there

 So, fans of, you know, tree skiing, bump skiing, quick turns, really going to like this ski a lot. Still with a Polonia wood core, it's on the lighter side, but it's still pretty stiff. It's got Diago fiber in there for stiffening agent. Also has damp tech, which reduces vibrations in the tips and tails

 The Black Ops line has been expanded and kind of has encompassed the 7 line from years past. So, this, you know, would loosely be the new Sky 7 or SIN 7. And so, the Escaper here, this one is a 172 and this is 93 millimeters underfoot. So, it's a little bit narrower, but it still retains that same quick turning and lightweight nature of the skis that it replaced

 So, you're really just getting a nice, light, kind of easy to ski product here, but it does have that high-end capability and high-end sealing that a lot of skiers like. So, you're not dumbing it down by any stretch by having this. It's just a slightly narrower, slightly lighter version of the Sender, which is the wider version of this ski. So, a little bit more all-mountain oriented, nice and versatile, carves a great turn

 No, I think you nailed it with that one, Logan. And you know, I think the really cool piece that I felt a lot with the sender is, and the escapers as well, is that we've got a really strong platform all the way up into the shovel of these skis. And that when you put some energy into this thing, both of them really, they absolutely respond. And with both these skis, I think the coolest piece about them is that, you know, you do not have to hit the gas pedal on these

 Just the next level, free ride, might be a little bit of what you guys are looking for in terms of all-mountain skiing, power skiing, slashing through chunder and variable conditions.  So we have a couple of different models that Boone Mountain Sports brought in. One that I think escaped. See what I did there? I see what you did there. Last year, for example, the Escaper

 So we're using Polonia wood with this stuff. We do have a little bit of metal underneath the foot just to really kind of make the ski feel a lot more stable as you're putting some energy into it, but not so much that it overpowers the skier. So we wanted to basically give it a little bit of a gas pedal. So if you did want to hit it, but this ski certainly doesn't make you have to use the gas pedal if you don't desire to

We have been impressed by these skis this last year and in particular the Escaper 94. We somehow overlooked this beast, utilizing paulownia and poplar, this ski is light and playful, it also has some gas in the tank with a metal mounting plated backbone giving it the extra juice if you so desire.  

We highly suggest checking this stick out if you're starting to explore the mountain and are more of an intermediate skier. It is light, easy to roll up on edge and even though it's only 94mm underfoot, it still has a decent early-rise profile for some deeper snow.

The other ski these boys dive into is the Sender 104. This haus is a straight crud muching boss. No joke of a ski, yet still maneuverable. We found this ski to be pretty stiff, quite the opposite of the famous Soul 7 series.  Which is great. They needed to change it up.

These are just killer all around skis.  I ski 50/50 backcountry / groomers and they just seem  to work well everywhere.  Nothing extreme for me, I just carve all day with continuous linked turns at a variety of Sierra resorts.  I love these
