I just got done skiing the all new Rossignol Experience 86 Basalt. Brand new ski from them this year.

Shops in Europe are well equipped and pricing is comparable to NAmerica… on my most recent Euro trip I rented Rossignol Experience 86 Basalt. This is not a ski I would have considered for my usual western US skiing but I LOVED it in Val d’Isère.

Excellent redesign this year that is more groomer focused then many all-mountain skis (without being a dedicated piste ski). For an intermediate both the 86 Basalt and the 82 Basalt would be a great fit for learning to carve on blues while handling some powder and varied terrain.

The **Rossignol Experience 86 Basalt** is a an amazing ski I demoed in Val d’Isère. The only reason I don’t own a pair is because I have skis I enjoy and I’m not looking for a replacement just yet (I rented in Europe so I wouldn’t have to fly with skis). Smooth, easy to turn, holds an edge… I was really impressed.

I have been on the search for my "forever skis". I did a lot of research. Demoed a few pairs including the Rossignol Exp 86 Basalt in 157. I liked the 157s, but felt they should be a touch longer.
