But I’ve got to throw in a recommendation for the rotring 600. I learned to draft with a pair of those pencils and they’re easily the best mechanical pencil I’ve ever used. They’re styled differently but I’d argue they’re just as much a child of the bauhaus school of design as the 2000 is.

All tested with my trusty Rotring 600 on Leuchtturm 120gsm paper. I was almost certain nothing could beat the OHTO flash dry gel but nontheless I ordered some new refills. I guess people normally fall for a pen and then look for refills... Anyways, at the shop looking for OHTO needle refills for a new clicky Rotring 600, and I got to try the Jetstream edge, that has this super damn fine 0.28. the pen is alright, but I don't fancy Metal+Plastic bodies, I rather commit, either one or the other. Now, I can't find a comprehensive list/resource to look for *nice* pens by refill...

IMO the Rotring is too expensive at that price point. You can get a Rotring 600 for $30, which is practically the same pen without the retractable tip. I prefer to find pens with the LEAST amount of moving parts so there's a decreased risk of mechanical failure.
