 The company really doesn't recommend any number of cash or cards. How are you breaking the low that leather will really determine how many cards you can get in there and you can carry the leather is very tough to start with. It doesn't really come to you supple and soft, but it will take time to break in and look fantastic. Saddleback Leather’s vertical bifold is a tough critter; compactly handling cards and cash

 It's LEGIT leather.  Update: I bought this wallet in 2012, so I feel like I can speak to its quality and the customer service I received. Over the years this wallet has probably broken 10-20 creditcards/membershipcards/etc. It brokes them straight across the part that swipes, so you're left with a skinny piece and the bigger piece with the numbers

 20 days later and I have not received a response. If you're interested in the replacement wallet I chose it will be the 'Bellroy Hide and Seek".  5 stars on date of purchase, 3 stars after 8 years, not a bad run for a 45 dollar wallet (at the time) but unhappy with the lack of customer service. Didn't seem fair to drop it lower than 3 stars as despite it's failings it's a quality product

I'm not a big guy and don't find this wallet to be too big like others have said. If you have bought a wallet that has become damaged after 1 year, look no further, this one will last forever.  It arrived quickly in a large padded envelope with no case, box or anything else, which honestly is unexpected for something priced this high but is still fine since it's just a wallet.  The first thing that I noticed about the wallet is that it's larger than my old bifold and the stitching craftsmanship is on point. However, it sacrifices utility for durability. There are fewer stitched compartments than expected on this sized wallet and I'm not able to fit as much in it as my former wallet

 The whole thing is stiff and uncomfortable to carry, but I think it will get better with time and use.  It looks like these sturdy materials are just that: sturdy. Good for longevity, not so much for daily use.

 My husband showed me what he has in it and it's indeed not full of unnecessary items or an excess of credit cards. This wallet is indeed a beautiful item, but if you're looking for a slender wallet, this isn't it.

This really has all kinds of quality to it by way of what's in it, and if we look at the leather on this, we can see that it has multiple layers and it's multiple layers incorporates, of course, the the cow skin

I will try and upload side by side pictures of the Saddleback wallet and my Tumi wallet with the same contents (actually the Tumi has slightly more business cards in it as the design of the Saddleback doesn't really allow of paper cards - the cards aren't durable enough to make it into the Saddleback wallet in tact). The thicker wallet is the saddleback FYI.  Again high quality item but I am honestly befuddled by the thickness - which I am sure isn't a problem for some

 It literally only fit in a cargo pocket which is great if you’re in the military. I’ll leave pictures below.
