For me it was finally getting a real running vest that's actually comfortable and can carry water/food/phone/gloves/etc (Salomon Adv Skin 5). This was a game-changer for long-runs instead of having to pre-position food or drinks along the route... I'm now self-sufficient for 20+ miles and I can't go without for the really long days.

You do pay a lot for the brand but they are usually of good quality & offer many features and a great fit. I have the Salomon ADV Skin 5 and am really happy about it.

I am on my third **Salomon Adv Skin 5 Set** running vest, and absolutely love it. I wear it on almost any run that is longer than 1h30m. It wears more like a piece of clothing rather than a pack, and unless it is heavily loaded I usually forget I am wearing it. On some occasions I wore it for 12-13 hours straight with little discomfort.
