Salomon S/LAB Pulsar

* Salomon pulsar trail: I used to only use salomons, but I get there is life after salomon (for us europeans). I looks like an ultra glide but with a more secure fit. For more information, I weigh 80 kg (178 lb) and that's why I am looking at shoes with enough cushioning, since I want the new shoes for routes up to 10 hours.

I've recently tried:. \- Salomon S/LAB PULSAR - not made for narrow feet, when I tie the lace tight, the cloth material gets scrunched up and rubs my toe area uncomfortably. Do not recommend for true narrow feet.

There was probably a total of 1-2km where trail shoes would've been much faster as I was slipping on loose rock and sand, but road shoes were probably overall faster and certainly more protective given that I wasn't conditioned to the trail surface or elevation gain and loss. If it's a muddy or boggy mess you'd probably want to go with something super aggressive from a brand like inov-8, whereas if it's dry and not super technical something like the Salomon Pulsar would probably be the fastest. If you feel you need more cushion, the Salomon Ultraglide and Hoka Speedgoat are highly reviewed, although they're designed more for ultra distances and are thus a bit overkill for the half marathon IMO.

Shipped the K12 back immediately. I've tried every brand from Hoka to Altra. I run in Vibram Five Fingers on grass, track, and for weight training and those are still fine; Salomon Sense Ride is my favorite trail shoe, the S-lab is my go to on track, and also ok on treadmill and road, there's nothing to it, which is what I like most of the time.
