The Blizzard Black Pearl 88s, Salomon Stance 94, Moment Hot Mess, Rossignol Rallybird 92. Any of those would be a good place to start.

My wife currently has the Salomon QST 92 LUX, she likes them but doesn't love them. She doesn't like how much chatter they have and doesn't feel confident pushing them on groomers as a result. She mostly skies groomers occasionally going off piste in open trees. Is it worth looking for another pair of skies? She looked at the K2 Mindbender 89 ti. Would this be a better ski for her? Looking for any recommendations.

She's 5'3", 120 lbs, advanced skier. Likes tough Blues and easy Blacks.

New skies, yes or no?

 Sure, S-Force, because I believe XDR is gone. So, you know, they needed that kind of frontside slash all-mountain ski to fill that void. So the Stance series here, we got a 90, a 96, and a 102. You know, we tend to call the middle range one the flagship model, so that's what we got here, 96

 I think brands are getting better at retaining the power and the edge grip that we want, but giving a ski more forgiveness. We're seeing it from some other, you know, like the enforcers, the new enforcers kind of got some of that theme going on. And I think this follows that. Right

 So I'm sure we can answer your questions pretty easily, whether it's comparing them to another model or to the QSTs or to the XDRs that they're kind of replacing. It feels different than really replacing them because they're wider. But anyways, let us know if you have any questions. We will see you guys on the slopes

 We do get some good splay when we look at it versus something like the Stance 102, which has more gradual tip shape, then this really comes to light as being more of that on trail ski, mostly because of the taper is brought ahead to the front of the ski, allowing for an easier and quicker edge contact, longer effective edge through the tail. So we do see some nice tail rocker back here, minimal splay, but again, we're having that line up pretty well with where the taper, the widest part of the ski is, and that just gives you a nice predictable feel from tip to tail on these skis. So great option for that all-mountain skier who's looking for something powerful and stable to handle the groomers, but also be able to take off trail, wide open bowls, chalky snow, windblown stuff, these are extremely capable in that regard.  Downside is that it might not hold the edge as good as other skis especially if you are a bit heavier. Other options would be something from Dynastar M series or Salomon Stance/QST.

Already bored since my skiing season over here at my local resort in Idaho and thinking about what I can add next to the quiver. Current rocking Fischer Ranger 102 fr's which I love as my daily drivers, and Icelantic Nomad 115's for my pow ski. 

Thinking it would be nice to have something narrower and more powerful than my Rangers for icy groomers (though they get the job done when needed) and would also like to get into touring at some point. Are there light-ish skis that would do well on firm days at the resort and also be serviceable for touring, or am I crazy? Thinking something around 95 wide here would round things out well.

Maybe I'm better throwing some shifts on the Rangers and just getting a straight up frontside ski for groomer days? Any thoughts here are appreciated. Thanks!

I like both widths of the Stance, and I am sure they would work great for What you describe. However, I also skied the Völkl Mantra M6, and I really, really liked them, and They will be my next skis.

I got a possible line on discounts for Salomon or Rossignol skis through a friend at a local shop, and am looking to buy my first skis for my quiver.  Looking for a 90-95mm waist, that plays really nicely in turns and is primarily for piste/groomers/light powder.  Speed/chatter isnt as big a concern, mainly want this pair as a backbone for fun days when I’m not pushing the limit.  I used the Mindbender 90Ti when I first started skiing and really enjoyed it, and am on a Nordica Enforcer 94 demo this season (seems a little heavier and less bouncy than the Mindbender, but its also a longer ski). Intermediate-Advanced All-Mountain?

Hey all, I'm looking to add a second ski to start my quiver. I currently ride on a pair of Salomon QST 92s, which have been great. However, being on the icecoast (New England), I have found them not as enjoyable on particularly icy days.

Looking for something that is not extremely stiff and frontside oriented (probably 82 width or less). I'm 5'9, about 170 lbs, and consider myself an early/middle intermediate skier. I can carve okay, but on steeper terrain, my form starts to struggle a bit and I end up more in the backseat.

I'm looking for a ski that will remain stable at what I consider higher speeds (\~30-35 mph) but still allow me to enjoy a day if I decide to go a bit easier and not punish me too much (so I'm definitely not looking for something like a Blizzard Firebird HRC). Ideally, this ski is what I will use to bridge me from an intermediate to a more advanced skier (which I plan on utilizing in a combination with lessons to get there).

I currently have it down to these but would welcome any recommendations or thoughts!

I can carve okay, but on steeper terrain, my form starts to struggle a bit and I end up more in the backseat.</p>

<p>I&#39;m looking for a ski that will remain stable at what I consider higher speeds (~30-35 mph) but still allow me to enjoy a day if I decide to go a bit easier and not punish me too much (so I&#39;m definitely not looking for something like a Blizzard Firebird HRC). Ideally, this ski is what I will use to bridge me from an intermediate to a more advanced skier (which I plan on utilizing in a combination with lessons to get there).</p>

<p>I currently have it down to these but would welcome any recommendations or thoughts!</p>

Help choosing a carving/frontside ski for my quiver (Icecoast)

You want one ski that's going to do everything at the resort with zero fuss? A ski you can grab without bothering to check the snow report because you know it's going to do the job? Easy, it's the QST 106. This ski floats like a dedicated pow ski, remains calm and composed in crud, and does the business on firm groomers, too. Is it the best in class in any of those things? Nope, but its a whole lot more versatile than those other skis.
