Doing a bit of a hunt for a holy grail item (ideally want to test drive next month). Osprey Fairview with wheels isnt perfect but not finding a better alternative so wanted to get your thoughts before I purchase.

You might be wondering why Im not just picking up a your typical one-bagger fancy backpack. I have lupus so I do need the ability to not carry weight on my shoulders (fun fact no day is ever the same and bad days a back pack is literally not possible to get on and often leaves fun bruises even at 5kg)

So ideally I want to find something that is:

\- Backpack function

\- Decent wheels (worn this way most often)

\- Either at max capacity for overhead carry-on or in the "true holy grail dream thats so far away I dare not even wish for it" category, an underseat bag

\- Business appropriate look - strat.consultant so I rock up to clients directly from the airport and as a female good luck trying to get by without looking the part 

\- Comfort - not expected but massive brownie points for fitting a short torso plus size hourglass aka accounts for the fact that my girls are way too big (I know, I know, I should get them reduced but its a scary option) and I have hips

In terms of stuff I def. don't overpack but I hate having to play tetris to deal with stuff so prefer an underpacked bag with extra space for random purchases, often very heavy decks of printed material for work that randomly appear every time Im at a client, drinks / food, etc. so looking for either a 20L underseat option or a 35-45 normal carry on

For a normal day I usually carry around a folder, laptop, charger, 2 food containers, a steel water bottle (1liter), a sweater, books, pencil case, a big wallet, sketchbook, notebooks, a pack of tissues and sometimes additional small stuff or more food.

For a light weekend I pack 3 sets of underwear 3-4 shirts, pj-s, a sweater, 2 trousers, laptop with charger, bottle, big wallet, pencil case with sketchbook, toiletries and some tissues.

I am a petite woman and I always wear a black wool coat. I'd like the backpack to match it. I want it to be strong, because I sometimes carry around heavy things in it and all my previous backpacks got torn because of this.
I also live in central europe and don't want to pay a lot for shipping from the US.

Hey guys, long time lurker first time posting. I recently passed the CPA exam and was given $500 to buy something for myself that will remind me of that success everytime I look at it. I'm having a hard time figuring out what I want and would like some fresh ideas. I'm not a jewelry or a watch person. I have needed a nice jacket for a long time and have been looking at some of the higher end Filson jackets, but I'm not sure that is a special buy. I want something that will last a lifetime that arent socks. Any and all ideas are welcome, thanks!!

Bought this for 2 or 3 overnight stays with work where I needed to carry laptop and chargers as well as a few nights clothing in a backpack which was comfortable on my back.  The backpack held 17in laptop and lead, phone charger and lead, usb plug, 3 sets of wired headphones, A5 notebook, toiletry bag for 3 days, 3 shirts, a pair of jeans, 3 sets of underwear including thermal T-shirts, a pair of chukka boots, mid weight mens jumper, pack of masks and wipes, bottle of water, collapsible umbrella, a pair of gloves, a woolly hat and some other stuff like teabags and a collapsible coffee cup. To be fair I was surprised it all got in but it did and then it was also manageable to carry which was also a surprise because, whilst it was comfortable, it did stick out from my bag like I was carrying the large pizza carry bags and this would have been a problem on the underground (although I always carry my backpack on a crowded tube anyway).  I am not in the flush of my youth anymore but I still found it okay to carry such a large pack and walked 40 minutes between meetings in London with it without injury or difficulty  So this does what I needed: I wanted a backpack (not wheeled case which is too hard to walk around with) which could carry 3 days of work items and clothes and casual clothes, and which was comfortable enough to wear for walking around London
