 Now, they did downgrade it from the 1440p panel of the S20 plus, which was a very, very weird, but I don't think it's as big of a deal on this phone because it kind of, you know, they did one thing at a time. They did two things that I wasn't really happy about. With the S21, they put a plastic back on that phone and they put a low resolution display. This one, they at least kept the really premium feeling on the everything else on this phone, but they just downgraded that panel, which I still think looked kind of good for the most part

 On the front, you have a 6.7 inch dynamic AMOLED display, it's 1080p and at that point, I thought it looked great and at this point, it still looks pretty good. Now, they did downgrade it from the 1440p panel of the S20 plus, which was a very, very weird, but I don't think it's as big of a deal on this phone because it kind of, you know, they did one thing at a time.  And as I mentioned at that point, I mean, it's really hard to mess these things up in my opinion. So in terms of the performance that pretty much covers it up there and in terms of battery life, I mean, this thing has a 4,800 milliamp hour battery and has wireless charging or reverse wireless charging as well, and this is another one of those devices that I just think Samsung just put everything they had in their phone at that point. Except for micro SD card slot and maybe except for the 1440p panel, this is still a very good looking phone and it still has a really good battery life as well, which is another really big advantage for it. So in terms of battery that covers it up there, and to be completely honest, I think the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is still completely worth it in 2022

You're getting a large 4800 milliamp hour battery This is an excellent value of a phone right now, and it's a sleeper device. I think in the market It's a device It doesn't get a lot of attention a device and not a lot of people like to talk about because it's just not the ultra It's not the max

 It gives you better battery life right out the gate You also have power saving modes on here, which really did help out Quite a bit you can enhance the processing speed to however you want it So you can kind of tweak it get the better battery settings. We're going to take a look at the samsung galaxy s 21 plus One year later, so when it comes to the price point of this phone right now It can be found around 799 even if you know where to look you can get it at Under 700 and if you find it on ebay, it'll probably be cheaper than that You so this is actually close to the price of the galaxy s 21 One fe 5g which just launched and there are some benefits to this over that phone like a larger display For example, and then when the galaxy s 22 plus comes out next month This should be even less and this is a premium samsung phone It feels actually quite similar to the galaxy s 21 ultra without having the huge camera bump So one year later when it comes to the body and the build what really struck me about this one is the overall flat Feel to it, you know samsung usually does curvy displays folding flipping things This one just a standard slab 6.7 inches so it does have a nice large screen and just flat so no accidental You know presses on the curves because there is no curves But it still retains the curve features that you know usually give you the edge panel So you have a flat display but you still get the edge panels on here and because it's a big phone You still get a big battery But I just enjoy the polished, you know phantom black here. It looks it feels about as premium as the galaxy s 21 ultra It really does for much less money than the s 21 ultra What you're really paying for with the ultra is the camera and maybe a little bit more sharpness with the resolution on the display But I gotta say when I picked this up after that phone It just feels like a slightly toned down version of it And we do have gorilla glass victus on the front and the back Of this phone and just like the s 21 ultra very clean around the camera housing a year later I still feel like this feels like a premium device I don't feel like it feels quite as premium as you know, the galaxy s 21 ultra Maybe even the note feels a little more premium, but this is still up there So for the lower price points you could find this at now You're not going to feel like you're getting anything cheap anything like that This actually feels way more premium than even the galaxy s 21 fe now when it comes to the display one year later It's still a gorgeous panel right here

 It was ridiculous I really enjoyed that in addition if we go to display settings here We do have the ability to change it between the adaptive and the standard modes But I also like how you can tweak the actual white balance of the display right here in settings Not only that in android 12 and 4.0 one ui they did bring the extra dim mode So if I go over here, you'll see it right here and that little n signifies a new feature So extra dim on the galaxy s 21 plus allowed it to get super dim at night So it didn't really bother your eyes This is a great display panel right now And I don't think when you if you get this phone right now, even one year later, you're going to even be at all disappointed They're still going to be using the same type of tech in the upcoming s 22 Plus so you can might as well just get this one if you're trying to save a buck You're going to get pretty much the same panel and it's quite smooth I didn't notice any delay in speed and for this discounted price 6.7 inches at this price I mean an iphone at this price is going to run you around a 6.1 inch display you get a 6

Galaxy S21 Plus 1 Year Later

Good Phone, when it works....

 Display wise, my eyes are happy. This display is freakishly bright during the day, outdoors and it can also be quite dim during the night. Also, if you remember, this year's S21 series dropped its resolution down to 1080p which I think was a limiting decision. I would have preferred to have at least the option to choose a higher resolution

 On the topic of things going away, I'm not sure why my charger had to be taken away but I guess this will be the new norm for flagship devices. At least the boxes are kinda tiny and cute. Display wise, my eyes are happy. This display is freakishly bright during the day, outdoors and it can also be quite dim during the night

Screen issues with S line

 No headphone jack, and I knew it didn't have one, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Display aspect ratio, please quit making these phones look like a remote control. I couldn't reach the top on 5.5 in 16x9 screen, but I could reach both sides

 Samsung bloat, not as bad as I remember, but still there. I thought the camera was supposed to be great, but I get way to many blurry photos. Fingerprint sensor is no where's near as good as any I've had on the back of a phone. Doesn't recognize it quite often

It's not an upgrade

Excellent as 4G phone but connection to AT&T's 5G network may not be reliable

 The front camera is very bad sometimes because it sharpens pictures too much. But when it's good, it's like the back camera of the A51. The battery lasts 9-10 hours. The only things in the box are the sim card pin, those useless papers, a charger cord,, and the phone itself, which is ridiculous

 It's a big upgrade from my A51 that had a bad low light camera and was getting pretty slow though I only had it for a year. This phone was $600 more than the A51 and I don't think it's worth it, but I don't think any phones worth almost or more than $1,000. The front camera is very bad sometimes because it sharpens pictures too much. But when it's good, it's like the back camera of the A51
