 Sure, Samsung kept the contour approach to the camera plus the two-tone colors, but the rest is pretty different. The back is now flat resembling more of an iPhone's approach, even if the curved borders do a better job at ergonomics. It's actually a chunkier phone, and I'm perfectly okay with it. Materials are now Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the front and the back, and this armor aluminum even includes environment-friendly materials from Purpose Fishing Nets, all leading to a premium feel when combining them all

The Galaxy S22+ is significantly larger than its sister model and uses the super-bright AMOLED display of the Galaxy S22 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ shares the same stylish design as the Galaxy S22 and also the same verdict as its smaller Galaxy S22 counterpart: Here, Samsung has again produced an extremely solid package overall that impresses with excellent workmanship, solid aesthetics and strong performance. 

Verdict of the Samsung Galaxy S22+

This is my fourth Samsung phone. Even though I liked my Galaxy S10, I decided to "upgrade" to this newer model as my backup camera for our 3 month Europe trip, for part of which I was on assignment with a major cruise line. Here's my summary after extensive use: PROS: The HDR function works amazingly well, which means that in tricky lighting situations, including too much contrast or the opposite gray flat weather, it produces sharp and beautifully colored images. It handles low light situations really well, too

I'm a Samsung fan and professional photographer, but I don't think I would buy this model again

Battery life is mediocre while the phone is being actively used. Under screen fingerprint reader is harder and more awkward than a read fingerprint reader (although it does have the small benefit of being accessible while the phone is laying down). Samsung's UI has a few issues that imo make it worse (noticeably app search on their launcher is often incredibly slow). Screen, camera, and computing power are all great, but don't make up for what the issues I think make a mediocre experience when paying a premium over a midrange device

Ok experience at a premium price point

Just used the phone for a few days. Setup was relatively easy - data transfer was a bit glitchy but finally worked. Poor value since charger isn't included since old chargers are not proper wattage - mistake on Samsung's part. Battery life is not as good as I hoped - I'm on the low end of amount of use

Like it but with concerns

 I traded in my note 20 ultra. Its battery life is so much shorter than my note battery was. The screen on the note 20 ultra was smooth and fast transition. Where the s22 ultra has a massive lag very often

 The battery life is okay, but I am near a charger most of the time. The camera is good, but the colors are always on the warm and saturated side so that I have to adjust them in PhotoShop if I need a photo with accurate colors. I dislike the bloatware, the awkward way you turn off the phone by pressing the Down Volume and Power buttons at the same time, and the constant prompts to set up Bixby.

 I was forced to take the phone in to the Samsung repair department in November; the technician immediately recognized the problem and told me that the screen was dying and had to be replaced, which would cost $230 (plus tax) on a phone that would only have Samsung support for 1 or 2 more years. A salesman examined my phone and notified me that it would be eligible for $135 trade-in value on a new phone and I should categorize it as a cracked screen.

 I was very happy with my 3-year-old Galaxy S10 that I bought new and kept in good condition, but the phone suddenly developed green lines and a greenish cast to the display in September. A T-Mobile technician found no damage to the phone, but a Google search turned up a fair number of complaints about a green-line display malfunction since 2019 that Samsung hadn't addressed.
