This is a pretty robust speaker. it's 48 inches wide, two and three quarters inches tall, and just under five and a half inches deep and a little over 15 pounds, and comes with a wireless subwoofer which is about eight and a third inches wide and just under 16 inches tall and deep

 Keep in mind though, this mounts on the wall the same way as it would sit on a stand, so it's gonna stick out about five and a half inches. As far as sound modes go, you get several to choose from. There's standard surround game Pro and adaptive sound along with a new feature called Q Symphony Q Symphonies Kind of lets the sound bar work along with the speakers built into the Tv for a more immersive sound experience, but this feature only works with the Samsung Q80, T-series Tvs and Up and you have to be connected with an Hdmi or an optical cable. Another feature you may be able to take advantage of if you are connected with an Hdmi cable and your Tv Samsung or otherwise has an E-arc connection is height effects in the form of Dolby Atmos or Dts-x And as you'd expect from a top-of-the-line model, the sound quality on the Q900t is quite good

 And because it's wireless, you can install it anywhere within about 30 feet of the sound bar. All you'll need is a power outlet to plug it into. It's got a cloth grille that wraps around the front and top so you don't have to worry about fingerprints, and if you flip it upside down, you'll find all the inputs down there. There's optical audio, two Hdmi ins, and an Hdmi output that works with both Arc and E-arc and having those two Hdmi inputs is going to be a great benefit for anyone who's planning on hooking up more than a few devices to their new Tv

Samsung HW-Q900T Atmos Soundbar Overview

 It's not a perfect 3D experience but it's noticeably better than the soundbar alone. On stereo content, I was surprised to discovery they actually do a pretty good job at improving the soundstage as well.

The sound of these speakers is surprinsigly good and big given their size, and they work really well with the Q900T, even though they lack upfiring drivers. With really-well designed surround content like the race in *Ready Player One*, you can definitely hear the sound moving behind your ears. It's not a perfect 3D experience but it's noticeably better than the soundbar alone. On stereo content, I was surprised to discovery they actually do a pretty good job at improving the soundstage as well

 The Q70T is a great soundbar in all other respects. Reckon it's a keeper as is.  OK, after a couple of calls to Samsung support.

 So much for experiencing that particular feature.  The fatal flaw is that the soundbar cuts out every time I use the "skip forward" feature on recorded programs. It's OK for about 3 skips then the sound fails. Turning off the soundbar and back on resolves the issue but it does happen every single time

 Setup was easy and all was well right from the get-go. HDMI-ARC is behaving identically to the first soundbar but the optical input works flawlessly. Tomorrow I will contact Samsung support and over the whole situation again but, this time, I'm willing to wait for the update and willing to accept that the Q70T will never have full audio capability such as ATMOS. Since, as I have now discovered, none of the broadcasts we use have high-quality audio anyway we really are not giving up anything

2nd Update: 3/21/21 I decided to return the soundbar and simply reorder another one. The fact that the price was lowered by $100.00 made the decision easy. The second one arrived Friday and I installed it on Sat

With that in mind I'm more open to the idea of bookshelf speakers than before (probably second hand due to budget), but am not ruling out a soundbar, so wanted to raise the query in a less hostile place.

I just got an LG BX OLED and want a good bang for buck sound setup that will provide a good upgrade over the stock TV speakers for music, movies, and gaming. I'm in an apartment so am not sure if a sub would be wasted in here. My living space is also asymmetric if that matters.

I'm not clear on whether I should be sticking with 2 channels / 2.1 - is 3 channels a worthwhile step up, or a pointless one in the face of 5+? Or is 5+ overkill for an apartment? Brand recommendations? Hoping to be within AU$1K

Soundbar for my apartment

 The sub and rears don't connect though. To fix this you unplug the sub, plug it back in and then it connects and you get sound through it and the rears. Very strange issue and I tried fixing it by doing a factory restore and it didn't help.  If I had to revisit this purchase I'd likely go in a different direction if Samsung still hasn't updated the firmware

Based on this I likely wouldn't buy a surround system made by Samsung in the future with so many other better options

Review after almost 1 year of use

I ordered one of these HW-Q70T soundbars for my Samsung Q60 TV, and found that it sounds pretty good. I wasn't all that impressed with the rear surround channel emulation, though, and ordered the optional SWA-9000S wireless rear surround speakers to pair with it. The subwoofer seems a bit overpowered for the size of this soundbar, but you can lower the volume of it from the remote control. You cannot adjust the volume of the rear surround speakers from the remote, however, which is somewhat annoying

I tried updating the firmware on the speaker using the SmartThings app to address this, but the update process hangs and never completes. They also have a USB update process for this soundbar, but it requires an additional adapter cable and also does not seem to work properly

A decent sounding yet somewhat buggy soundbar

I purchased a Samsung Q900T sound at today and have it connected to my Sony X950G tv using eARC. I have tested Netflix and get Atmos output correctly.

 For such an expensive soundbar, I would expect better quality control, but I hear that in China, they do not have quality control. Buyer beware!  UPDATE: I've found an old optical cord, and tried it on the soundbar. With it, the ARC now works and I can get both the TV sound and the soundbar to work together. I feel molified, so I've moved from 2 stars up to three

The bluetooth port works, but it will not give me the TV sound together with the soundbar's sound which actually sounds fuller and better. (I also have the Samsung Q90 tv, bought at the same time). For such an expensive soundbar, I would expect better quality control, but I hear that in China, they do not have quality control. Buyer beware! 2 yrs old and already the HDMI ARC port does not work

I currently own a Samsung HW-Q900T soundbar plus 2x Samsung SWA-9100S rear speakers. They work fine in my relatively small room, but both the sound quality and the surround effects are not that great. So I'd like to upgrade to a much better system.
