 I will do a video on it if I ever get around to it. So we get these plastic rings that we screw to the wall, attach the L-shaped brackets to the soundbar. You get a template that you roll out to mark the wall up at your desired height. obviously put it level

 Now turn the sound bar on that should have connected tells me on this Tv Atmos enabled device connected, I'm going to flip it on its face so we can actually see the display. That's the only weird thing is you can't see it. Okay, so you can see. It'll say volume plus and minus

 There flip it over that comes off. He says double A batteries in the back dimensions quickly so the width at its widest point: 123 centimeters or is that 48 and a half inches 14 centimeters. The depth there or five and a half inches, seven centimeters or two and three quarter inches subwoofer dimensions. and if we'd call this the length or the depth but 40 centimeters that way, which is about 15 and three quarter inch width, 20 centimeters or just under eight inches

 In this case, pop it into the arc part port on the soundbar. Turned it on so we can see the subwoofer pairing. I'll just turn it around, put my mains input into it. If it reaches, I can just see the light there start to blink and it should go solid

Samsung HW Q900A Dolby Atmos Soundbar, Unboxing, Setup, Dimensions and Test

So made an order, stick it underneath my 65” LG and my god I am pleasantly suprised! Allthough the subwoofer is quite poorly placed (as that is the only place I can fit it) the Samsung Q910A still manages to make a fully immersive soundstage, way beyond the one my NAD M10v2 / Powernode combo does.

My first soundbar ever - positively suprised!

 Just seems like getting multiple devices to handshake via hdmi and understand what each device is sending and receiving along the way in general can get complicated. - sound quality was fair. Like I said, more surround and 360 atmos sound than many other setups, or even just about any other soundbar or basic home theater setup. But… I don’t think I would say more immersive

 But… I don’t want to do that route. The tv supports hdmi 2.1 and I don’t want a middle man from my devices to the tv. I will add that this may be partially the tv as the culprit

 The setup I prefer works with the Sonos arc setup, but I have had some “handshake” issues with that as well from the Apple TV to the tv itself then to the arc. I’ve only noticed this once and it didn’t last long, but I do want to mention.  I had seen reports of this but also seemed like the latest firmware addressed this. I was wrong. The soundbar did not receive earc signals from my tv. I know this because Apple TV outputs as lpcm, which means to send atmos from that to the tv then via arc as is without recompressing from the tv to the soundbar you need earc

Sounds Good When Works

i have the Q900A and i got the satellite SWA9500S they made a huge difference in the overall surround sound experience, highly suggested

I just got the Q800A from samsung for 349€ which is a pretty good deal. 

Now I’m thinking of adding the swa9500s rears, I can get them for around 200€. Do you guys think it’ll be such an improvement on the experience? 

Also, I missed out on the q950a for 619€ because it was out of stock and the offer was ending. I feel like I really missed out on this now because for the 70€ difference (q800a + rears) I could’ve gotten a much better setup, what do you guys think? Would the difference have been worth it?

Are rear speakers worth it?

5 hours with a Samsung tech who finally managed to get me reconnected to the soundbar only to have Alexa still not working. I called back only to find there was no documentation on my first call. So starting from scratch we reset the soundbar again. It seems you have to have a phone to connect to the internet

 The sound would cut out every minute or so. I ended up streaming to it via Bluetooth but that is problematic as every time I turned out the TV it would break the BT connection and I would have to manually reconnect it. I decided to reconnect it to the wifi as it would not do so. I spend 1

 So starting from scratch we reset the soundbar again. It seems you have to have a phone to connect to the internet. That by itself is not unusual, however the phone must be present if you want to use Alexa. What happens if you have people without phones? Well, Alaxa will not work

Wifi ? Sort of, sound quality is great but wifi connectivity requires phones to be present

To me personally the Samsung Q900A is much better as I find the Bose to sound muffled at Low volumes. However the Bass Module is the part I love. It gives me theater quality sound at home, I don’t just hear the thunder in the movie, I feel it too.

Bose soundbar 900 owner coming from 700 model

 I had power until the next power cycle when I had to do it again. I texted Samsung support and got NO help. They were, in fact, extremely unhelpful and didn't listen to what the problem was, nor my attempts at troubleshooting. The power issue went on for another week when all of a sudden the sound was completely garbled and a notice popped up on the TV that the soundbar wasn't connected to the HDMI ARC port, which it was

I purchased the HW-Q60T soundbar to go with our new Samsung Q80T television. This replaced an old Samsung soundbar/wireless sub I liked that stayed with the house we sold. The Q60T was easy to set up and interfaced immediately with the TV and the wireless subwoofer. I was underwhelmed with the weak sound output

 I checked the power adapter AC plug and wire, then the wire from the power adapter to the soundbar. Finally, I unplugged the power wire to the back of the soundbar and plugged it back in. I had power until the next power cycle when I had to do it again. I texted Samsung support and got NO help

Weak sound and poor support

2 enabled soundbar and sub. 950A just comes with bundled speakers (I forgot their model), they connect with the primary bar to make it an 11.1.4 setup

 More than height, you will benefit from wider soundstage. In my living room I can feel the 3.1 making a difference even if so slightly.

Okay it might kind of be what you think. AV Noob. So currently we are building a house and our living room has 20ish foot ceilings. Everything I've read says up-firing speakers will not cut it, obviously if I'm wrong let me know. I 'm not really interested doing pendants or mounting speakers in wall in this room. I have an actual theater room that is going to have a real atmos setup. That being said I still want it to sound as good as possible. I'd also prefer to go with something Yamaha because music cast is going to be in all of our rooms and balconies, but I'm not absolutely married to it. I also need something wall mounted. So that leads me to my questions:

1. Can I get something like the YSP 5600 and just let the up-firing speakers run, regardless of benefit, or will it degrade my experience somehow? Or is there a way to just run everything in a format other than atmos or is that dependent on my media?
2. Other Soundbar recommendations? I have outlets on the ground behind where the couch will be so I could reasonably do speaker stands behind for a true 5.1 setup. If there is no rear speakers the closest back wall is about 15-20 ft from the couch as well. 
3. Other solutions?

Another Soundbar High Ceilings Post, But It's not what you think I Swear.

 I have a standard “old TV” (maybe 5 years now). The JBL I was gifted and wasn’t what should have been sent so it went back. 2nd unit was a Samsung and hooked up to HDMI/ARC, sounded good and all features worked as expected (tv remote as well). I couldn’t get the rear speakers to connect and with a call to Samsung I discovered it wasn’t compatible with the rear Samsung speaker Amazon suggested so that went back

 3rd unit was this exact model which I got “refurbished” off Amazon. When it arrived I plugged it in I couldn’t get sound through the HDMI/ARC so I presumed it was faulty and it went back. 4th unit came in and same issue no sound with HDMI/ARC. Worked good paired to my phone so I again called Samsung and they were baffled, they recommended using a optical cable and luckily I had one coming next day

Good surround but FYI

I just got the Samsung HW-Q900A now and I’ve to say the Q900A is much louder than the A7000. So A7000 sounds at Vol 40 loud but the center channel is very quiet (I think it’s the center channel). I know you can use the speakers of a Sony TV as center channels.
